Problematic snake advice: "If you look closely..."
— Amy Alkon (@amyalkon) July 18, 2020
Um, thanks, I'll pass -- which is to say I'll run away like Usain Bolt while screaming like a goat being slaughtered. https://t.co/2LvdcF9mSs

Nerd joke.

I generally avoid snakes - both those on two legs and those that crawl.
I could never remember the rhyme to tell the coral and the king snake apart, so I avoid any red, yellow, and black striped snake.
As for a tapered head vs. a spade-shaped head, I'm not sure what that difference is or how to tell it at a glance.
Avoid snakes.
And snacks - I saw a NextDoor posting wherein the OP warned of "black snacks" in his neighborhood. Who knew licorice was dangerous?

Almost all snakes in CONUS will do their very best to get away from you, screaming if they could. The easiest way to get bit is to step on, sit on, or grab a snake. So, if you're in snake country, look where you step, look twice where you're going to sit, and if you can't see where you're about to put your hand, don't. And avoid brush piles.
The nice thing about the coral snake is that they have to gnaw on you to break your skin. The bad thing is they're armed with a neuro toxin.

Unexpected, but welcome.

@ Conan
The last part of that rhyme is " Red on yellow, kill a fellow." Whenever I encounter a striped snake, the first thing that pops into my head ( as I turn and run ) is "Kill a fellow." The rest pops into my head when I am 10 feet away.
The first part of the rhyme is " Red on black, venom lack. "

Yeah, when I encounter a red, yellow, and black snake, my first thought is to back away, then worry about rhymes. It's the "red on" part that I aways forget. So, in my head, it's "Wait, what on yellow. Oh fuck. Just leave."

Hahvid edjumicationism.

We've totally been talking about the TGD flooding, right? It's getting interesting.

In the 1955 movie "We're No Angels," starring Humphrey Bogart, one of the three "angels" describes the snake - which is significant to the plot - as looking like "a pretty bracelet." Yes, all three of them know that it's venomous - as are quite a few brightly colored animals, when they're not toxic to predators. Examples: the monarch butterfly (toxic), the arrow poison frog, and the cone shell (sometimes just two inches long).

In the meantime, I stumbled on this, from 2017:
" 'That Boy Ain’t Right': Re-Visiting ‘King Of The Hill’ In the Age of Trump"

I have to say, I've never heard of fathers complaining about sons who want to play soccer. But then, I've never been to Texas, where the show takes place.

Why not?
TGD was completed in 2003 and is, according to Internet rumors, in serious danger of crumbling. The recent severe flooding of the Yangtze River is said to be pushing the dam to its breaking point. Spillway releases have already sent millions of gallons of water downstream. Keep in mind that Wuhan and its porous biological labs are downstream from the Three Gorges Dam.
The Chinese government says TGD is safe, but they also said COVID-19 could not be transmitted people-to-people, so take the CCP at its word if you dare. After all, what can the Wuhan labs release that would be dangerous to us, right?

IMNHO Hank Hill vote tracking record would be like this: 2008? Obama. 2012? Obama. 2016? Hillary. 2020? Trump.
People love to sh*t on Dale, but he's not a MAGA character, he's more like a skinny Tom Nichols. Plus I can't imagine him supporting a New Yorker like Trump.

Lenona, if you want to find loopy people you can find them anywhere. The episode is intended to be an exaggerated parody. Yes football is big down here. No there are few people who will complain about someone wanting to play soccer. Soccer fields are common here. In Houston they usually put them at the bottom of drained retention ponds. After all as long as you paint the goal and take the net off it suffers little harm being under water in a hurricane.
I have an uncle who disowned his son because the kid didn't follow the exact same degree plan as his father in college. All the way down to the exact same professors and time slots. Many of us wonder about fetal alcohol syndrome or something else in regards to my uncle. But who know. He probably would object to his kids playing soccer. But he is generally not well in the head already.
