As Gavin Newsom's handling of the coronavirus comes under increasing criticism, his choice to run for governor instead of senator seems, in hindsight, to have been the unlucky choice.
Back in 2015, when Newsom and Harris were the leading Democrats to replace Barbara Boxer, they struck a backroom deal that one of them would run for senator and one for governor. Both knew they would face no serious opposition, as the California Republican Party was all but nonexistent at that point.
It seems Harris got the better end of the deal - the job with no actual accountability. And now she's on the verge of being president-in-waiting for the mentally deteriorating Joe Biden.
Newsom may be finished in national politics before he even got a shot, unless he's Machiavellian enough to appoint as Harris' replacement someone old enough that he would be the inevitable successor for that person when he hits his term limits?
Like I said earlier, don't understate this woman's ambitions or her capacity for making back-room deals. She's a consummate politician and two moves ahead of her opposition from the outset.
I'd lay real money that she's already planning to depose Joe Biden and knows roughly how she'll do it. She's in cahoots with the party insiders to determine who will be in a Biden cabinet (crucial votes for a 25th Amendment move).

Yond, Kamala has a lean and hungry look.

Is anyone else here frightened by the prospect of government by political coup? Goodbye rule of law, and constitutional procedures. Anyone? Bueller?
I mean they have been trying it for the last four years. Maybe they have finally found the ticket?
Looks like the dude is angling to be a Klingon in the next Star Trek movie.
I've been plowing thru Star Trek TOS 40th anniversary remastered version. I'm most of the way thru the first season, and wow. What a line up of episodes! so many standouts!
Also the end credits have an entry for "Scpipt Supervisor".

I'd venture that Joey Butterfingers will simply step down when the time is deemed correct. Especially if he is promised that his family isn't investigated for their interesting business practices.
An Alabama police department has launched an investigation into what it says was the murder of a 3-year-old child made to look like a hot car death, according to a report.
Sounds like the authorities are gettin' wise!

If luck is with us that toothpaste model adulterous haircut in the governor's office may not go any further, and Kamala may finally prove that an adulterous Machiavellian ladder-climbing black woman can fuck things up as badly as any old-money white guy.
Then all we'll have to do is climb out of the rubble, overcome the radioactive cockroaches, corral the zombies and start over.

Is this another one of Sacha Baron Cohen's stunts?
