God Save The Link
I've watched so many British crime shows & have been in cars so seldom since March 15 (only 2 times) that I just had trouble remembering which side of the car the steering wheel is on in the US. #BizarreTimes

Oh come on! The steering wheel is always on the driver's side.

My husband still turns on the windshield wipers instead of the turn signal and he has been back from Japan for eight months now.

I'm a fan of Morse and its many spin-offs. Every time, I do a double take trying to figure out why the lower-rank guy is driving. Then, I realize, nope, he's on the passenger side.

I particularly like Endeavor, but the entire series is a good one.

I heart dum jokes

PS- I'll be stealing that. It'll take another 50 years for the context to come around again, but I'll be ready

I feel for him. I still clutch when braking and keep a hand on the shift knob; and I've been driving an automatic for 2 years now.

"On Oct. 2, the day President Trump was taken to Walter Reed for coronavirus treatment, some 840 of his fellow Americans perished from covid-19. By Monday, Oct. 5, I gather, Trump was feeling better", tweeting "Don’t be afraid of Covid."

Portlanders would rather vote for someone who will torch their city even more than to vote Republican.

Love the famous commies skirt in the next Ngo tweet.
I have a brother-in-law who lives in Oregon and he frequently complains, "there's Portland and there's Oregon, please don't confuse the two."

Endeavor is good, probably the best drama of the series. Lewis was lighter, but I liked the sheer Oxford-ness of it; the way they incorporated the city into the scenery and the stories.

I have been to London (twice) but it has been a long time. Oxford is definitely on my bucket list. A big part of that desire generated by the Crime dramas, and British mysteries.

Meanwhile, Governor Haircut's office has tweeted that diners should wear a mask between bites.
Gog_Magog_Carpet_Reclaimers at October 6, 2020 9:52 AM
If masks work, doesn't that mean that our not wearing masks kills between 20 & 80 thousand Americans per year --- due to influenza?
That's gotta be Teh Donald's fault, too!

Picked up the Strat at sunset and tried to spank a few riffs...
Failed, and realized that millions of men in my cohort were doing exactly the same thing in exactly the same moment, but not any more successfully.

I found both these letters to the editor and the comments at the WSJ depressing.

Not a single person pointed out the president doesn't set the budget. Congress does. Presidents don't set tax rates. Congress again.
Talk about a failure of our education system.

R.I.P. Johnny Nash, 80.
I so loved "I Can See Clearly Now" as a little kid...

One of the comments:
Simon Higgins:
"This is one of those tunes that would probably get laughed out of a record exec's office now if some young songwriter was pitching it to him. But it was the 70's and it belonged to it's era and is now a bona fide classic. One of the greatest, most uplifting songs ever written."
Nash was also known for "A Teenager Sings the Blues," “A Very Special Love,” "Hold Me Tight," "Tears on My Pillow," Sam Cooke’s “Wonderful World," and “Let’s Go Dancing."

I have driven in Japan -- not much and a long time ago -- but at least then they used signals and wipers just like in the U.S. Oh wait....I don't recall it being Japan though some place they would run there wipers as a signal for the other party to go. Is that what are talking about?
I think controls should be more standardized. At one point I had a car, a truck and was often times driving my dad's truck and a work truck and all of them had different layouts. One of the trucks had an automatic on the floor and one stick on the wheel. Stick up/down turn signal, fwd/back was wipers, end twisty was headlights, middle twisting was fog lights.( I think )

No. At least in the cars we had there, the wiper and turn signals are reversed compared to the U.S. brake and gas pedals are not reversed. And if you have a stick shift, you will be operating it with your left hand.
I’m so dyslexic I can’t tell you which is which now.
