• As many as 2 million Uighurs in prison: What would it take for Donald Trump, or anyone else, to take the Chinese seriously? Hmmmmmm....
• Biden Factoid.

Feeling the stress? Feeling the pressure? Need a wholesome way to bleed off the excess steam?
Then do what the Dutch do!

An incredible failure of understanding.
The last, last thing you want in biodegradables is that they decompose before they've served their purpose... And we can readily imagine that shopping bags might sit on a warehouse shelf for three years before being put out for use at the grocery counter. Ten years might be a better target for decomposition. Twenty might be better. Fifty or a hundred might be perfect... Who knows?
Besides, Tupy says all the litter in the oceans is now coming from eight rivers, all in Africa and Asia. This is not an American or British problem (anymore).

Anyone else notice that Doudna is crazy attractive?

The problem with chick sports is that even at their best, they're just chicks.
Okay, that was two sexist ones in a row. Time to reel it in.

Best goal ever? OK, maybe. The passing and team work were pretty impressive.
But dropping to her knees and raising her arms to Heaven as if she'd just been delivered of a terrible curse while her teammates drop to their knees hugging her seems like overkill in the celebration department. An arm pump would have sufficed.

Aww, c'mon. You don't want to take them seriously, either. It could mean, I mean, not WW3, but dude you'd lose your smartphone upgrades!
What makes you think you know how seriously ANYONE is taking the Chinese, given the shallow avarice of for-profit "news" media?
Hmm. China is acting drastically to curtail Muslim influence in their nation (and I do not know why). Can you name a more effective way to save... France?

If you can trust no one, how do you know enough of the world to know that you —or that I, specifically— should trust no one? Why are your perceptions to be believed at all?
Trumpenoids spend their lives in damp diapers for corrupt media, but never describe the nourishment of their own oracular certitude. We don't know how it appears in their souls… There are never any sources or cites. It just comes to them, Man… They just know stuff.
• 'Fauci used the wrong statistical models! I'm not an epidemiologist or anything, I just know that he did!'
• 'Trump is good with money! No one who's given his life more than twenty seconds of investigation would think so, but I just know that Trump's good with money!'
etc

That's what all of American football seems like as well… These guys struggle for twenty=plus years to put themselves in a position to score a touchdown, something the may do only a time or two in their whole careers, and they're immediately swarmed by teammates who [A.] pound into them and bang their helmets with pointless impact, [B.] interfere with the television views of the proudest moment of their public lives, and [C.] drain every drop of dignity the moment might have held. It happens in a lot of sports, American ones particularly.
Coach Wooden used to tell his players (paraphrase) that if they weren't behaving too stupidly in their victory celebrations, they'd feel less need to be theatrically upset and depressed when they lost.
Let's ever'buddy keep it real.

Surprisingly Not Florida News:
Pearl River, Louisiana priest Travis Clark was arrested for getting it on with a pair of dominatrixes on the church altar.
"Archbishop Greg Aymond went to the church days later for a church ritual to restore the altar’s sanctity".
Sanctified Clorox was involved, I hope.

Re: Biden factoid
10 or 15 places downthread is a link describing the factoid as a hoax:
"The list claiming to be "Epstein Flight Log" with 125 celebrities and politicians exposed as having been on Epstein's plane, dubbed Lolita Express is fake, and 40 of the celebrities and politicians listed do not appear on the Epstein flight logs."
Though I don't doubt they endorse Biden.
Spiderfall at October 9, 2020 5:29 PM
OUCH!!!
I hate that.
(Some of those names on the list did seem a little weird. But NONE of them actually belonged there, y'kno?)

Oh, look, an equivocation. I asked for how YOU would know about Chinese intent.
You didn't answer.
Independently, you could note reports of Chinese warship manufacture, of their involvement outside their borders, of market shenanigans, of oppression in Hong Kong, of reports by other than advertising media. You could offer comparisons as to what is said vs. what you know from personal experience.
Please do. And not for me, for yourself. You could obsess about Red China as a break from Orange Man Bad.
