This is how dumb as f*** Twatter is: I made a tweet in reply to some people, some time ago, suggesting that taking Zinc could slow down the spread of the Chinese Frankenvirus. But I used a six-letter synonym beginning with "r" to describe slowing down, which could also be interpreted as a derogatory slang for the mentally challenged. My use was a perfectly fine application of this word, but guess which interpretation Twatter went with. Also quite convenient for them, since Big Tech has apparently appointed itself as an all-knowing medical board to determine how best to treat the not-so-novel Coronavirus. Anyway, I'll be able to tweet again in about 11 hours and 50 minutes.

If the person who is still comfortably ahead in most polls wins this election, such silliness will have the imprimatur of the White House.

It's alright. Just like the NFL, the NBA only needs progressive fan support from California and New York. The rest of the states are just dead weight.

I'm betting most of these "Trump is Hitler" people - Cusack included - know very little about Hitler, his rise to power, the Weimar Republic, parliamentary democracy, or the National Socialist philosophy. Mind you, I'm not defending any of those things, but I am saying that Trump is not Hitler.

These folks just know Hitler an evil man and want to say Trump is just like that, evil. Trump's the most evil man ever. Why can't you people understand that?!

It's a childish comparison to the biggest evil they could think of; to what they were taught in grade school and in the movies was the most evil thing thing ever - teaching which deliberately ignored the evils perpetrated by Stalin, Lenin, Guevara, Mao, Castro, et al. No, they proudly wear the likenesses of those evils on t-shirts.

If anything, Trump is James Buchanan, a man who might have been an acceptable president in any time but the one in which he was elected. Like Buchanan, Trump is proving to be no match for the forces tearing the country apart.

Not to be too much of a showbis weasel, but in the early 90's, a mediocre and extremely vulgar comedian named Clay was scheduled to host Saturday Night Live, and producer Michaels was brought onto the Koppel current events show to answer charges that the coarse joker was 'Hitlerian.' I was struck by the economy and speed of his first answer: "That trivializes and important metaphor."

BTW, Xi truly is Hitlerian. People don't talk about it much.
