Judge Judy would agree with you. Katie Couric was interviewing Judge Judy and said, "...we're both feminists."
Judy corrected her and said that she never considered herself a feminist. She was not a woman lawyer. She was a lawyer who happened to be a woman.
Katie Couric, desperate to scrape the egg off her face, adopted a somewhat patronizing attitude, explaining to Judge Judy what feminism is, and that Judy, of course, is a feminist.
But Judy was having none of it. Insisting that "you define yourself" and to not let others define you.
