Some things to think about now that the impeachment is over.
1. Will the military in DC go home. Or is it an occupied city until??
2. When the military doesn't go, will the main stream media point it out and how dictatorial it is.
3.Now that he has been acquitted. Will Facebook, Twitter and the like, ban and put up fact check banners on articles/posts saying he incited anything. We had a "trial" with a verdict, which is way more sure a determination that the "no voting irregularity" non-trials were.

Until the Mayor gets her way and (1) turns it into the 51st State and (2) she's automatically made Governor and (3) the Democrats subsequently get 1 more Governor, 2 more Senators and at least 1 more Representative.

So "until it's good for the Democrats to remove them" would be the short answer.

And by "at least 1 more Representative", I mean apportioned out of the legally-limited 435 Representatives three years after the census, not added to an ever-expanding House.

As to 51st state, Maybe people would agree to them being re absorbed by Maryland just as Virginia took back Arlington but not a new state. They already have too much power and influence on Fed by being half of the swamp, and daily influence on all states congresspeople.

As I understand it, opinion polls on the subject indicate that DC residents do not favor being re-absorbed into Maryland. They want to be their own state.

Luckily it is not just their opinion that matters. In general US terms,I think absorbed would be acceptable compromise.
