I heard somewhere that Icelandic is the closest modern-day language to what the Vikings would have spoken many centuries ago. I don't know if it's really true, but it seems reasonable.

I went to this website to figure out the rest of the conundrum. Here it is:

"Cheetos are awesome" translates into the following Icelandic phrase:

"Cheetos eru æðislegir!"

Not a link, but an observation:

In a podcast a couple of years old, you mentioned to the host that you hadn't accounted for the behavior of suicide in evolutionary psych research yet.

If I may be so bold: nature is relentless in culling the weak and stupid, and the mechanism doing this is completely out of our control. It's in the dominion of stimulus/response. Like battle fatigue, which acts very much like a precursor to suicide quite well demonstrated in our population of veterans, it affects different people in different ways.
Nature selects for those who survive intense stress in this way.

Take a moment to surf the Web and you can find people who lock up totally when they hear a loud noise, or have a phobia that can prevent them from saving others or even their own life.

This might seem coldhearted, but if you think so you are anthropomorphizing natural selection, which recognizes your spirit of teamwork w/r/t your fellow man but is not bound by it at all.

TL;DR: nature, through its laws of cause and effect, sees to it that those who cannot cope do not breed more who cannot cope.
