I always thought male menopause involved buying a little red sports car, getting hair implants, ditching the first wife, and running off to Vegas with the young secretary with 38DDs.
Probably the script will need a big rewrite.

"Male menopause is a lot more fun than female menopause. With female menopause you gain weight and get hot flashes. Male menopause - you get to date young girls and drive motorcycles." ~ Rita Rudner

Speaking of buying fun things for yourself...
I found this on Reddit.
"My boss was complaining about spending $800 on presents for her daughter from LuLuLemon…..I couldn’t help but think….man I’m so happy I don’t have to worry about spending a ridiculous amount of money on clothes my kid might wear for a couple weeks….
"Then I started thinking….what should I buy MYSELF for Christmas?!
"Let’s hear it, what’s everyone treated themselves to lately? And/or what are you gifting yourself for Christmas??"
There are well over 400 comments. (I didn't post; I don't want to spend even more time on Reddit.)
I think I managed to miss the church bazaars this year out of sheer laziness - and besides, too many of them are cluttered with those cellophane-wrapped baskets with dubious food items. That is, I doubt most relatives like receiving them, so I've never bought one for them.
But, when it comes to those things I treated myself to over the entire pandemic, I slowly bought a pile of antiquarian illustrated books and somewhat rare magazines. They are BEAUTIFUL.
No tech stuff for me. (I used to be a classic film enthusiast, but now, somehow, sitting through a whole movie just seems like work - and constantly putting it on pause when something else needs doing isn't fun either.)
Also, while it's nice to find cheap vintage clothes I actually like, it's also pretty rare, so I don't do clothes shopping as a rule. It doesn't matter much whether the clothes are cheap or not; they still won't appeal to me.
