The hatred of "capitalism" or "the profit motive" is simply a cover for envy from lazy people. If you start a lemonade stand and borrow $20 from Dad for it, that is capitalism. The "profit motive" is why anyone starts and runs a business. Without profit you go out of business. If you run a charity, you still need to bring in money. What other motive could one have for working? Japan in the century or so before Admiral Perry sailed into tokyo harbor had shut themselves off from trade in the name of self-sufficiency. Everyone grew their own food and made their own stuff. The level of prosperity plummeted to subsistence level.

The same fuckwits who complain about capitalism love coffee shops and trendy boutiques --which are businesses. They love their iPhone and laptop--big businesses. They seem to have no idea that under communism you don't get to choose your career--it is chosen for you. They would not like working in a tank factory or on a gov farm.
