This Is Fair Like My Competing Against 6-Year-Olds!
"Transgender UPenn swimmer, 22, who used to compete as a man smashes TWO US women's records in weekend competition and finishes one race 38 seconds ahead of her nearest rival," reports The Daily Mail's Alyssa Guzman, Sam Baker, and James Gordon:
A trans swimmer and senior at the University of Pennsylvania, who previously spent three years competing as a man, smashed two US records while competing at a weekend contest, sparking fresh claims of unfairness. On Sunday, Lia Thomas, 22, put in an astounding performance at the Zippy Invitational Event in Akron, Ohio, that saw her finish the 1,650 yard freestyle 38 seconds ahead of her teammate Anna Sofia Kalandaze.
Thirty-eight seconds is an outrageous outmatch.
Thomas's winning time was 15:59:71, with her UPenn teammate Anna Kalandaze coming second with a time of 16:37:44.Thomas's win was a record for the Zippy Meet, and the pool where the event took place. But she also managed to smash two US women's swimming records during earlier races at the same event.
...But as Thomas continues to crush records in women's events, it has also sparked outrage amid controversy surrounding transgender athletes.
It is unknown when Thomas began transitioning, but NCAA rules state she had to have completed one year of testosterone suppression treatment in order to compete.
Critics say trans female athletes can still have considerable advantages over their cisgender female rivals, because of height and weight advantages they may retain even after hormone treatment.
Thomas's last known men's event was November 16, 2019.
Earlier this year, Thomas said she felt grateful in being allowed to keep swimming.
'The process of coming out as being trans and continuing to swim was a lot of uncertainty and unknown around an area that's usually really solid,' she told Penn Today in June. 'Realizing I was trans threw that into question. Was I going to keep swimming? What did that look like?'
Nevertheless, Thomas' participation has led to criticism on social media.
'This should outrage every person who's ever advocated for women in athletics,' wrote Jessica Cole.
'A disgrace for all the hard working female swimmers,' added Claude Gregory.

It won't be noticed as a bad thing by the main population until it hits the womens events in the Olympics. Until then it only effects the very few parents/students who have girls in a sport that has a transgender student in it. Not enough John Q public watch or care about womens sports. But when a transgender man from a tiny country who never won a bronze before not just wins every swimming event but shatters records will it be noticed. Or every womens athlete competing is trans will people notice. But by then it will be too late,

The solution is simple:
For Women’s Sports stop recognizing “winners.” Simply award everyone a Participation Ribbon and stop keeping records.

End Title IX then we can talk.

Real women need to take the knee. He’s not had any surgeries, only hormones, so after graduation , he can go back to being a guy and gloat. I wonder if this was all some setup for a book?

There can be no solution as long as people deny reality. A man is a man even after he cuts off part of his appendage and wears a dress. He still has the XY chromosome. He still has the body mass, the upper body strength and the physiology of a male.

When you stridently insist for 50 years that men and women are the same in every respect (looking at you, feminists) then you have no basis to suddenly say, oh just kidding, they aren't the same. When your political allies insist that there is no such thing as sex, just personal feelings on a "spectrum", once again you have thrown yourself under the bus.
The US women's soccer team lost to under-15 boys team. Women in basic training get far more injuries than men and cannot do things like load a howitzer or carry a mortar. An old man like myself has more hand grip strength (on average) than any woman of any age. Etc. Reality is a bitch. It exists even if you deny it.

There's your problem. The college athletics industrial complex.

I love the dominant paradigm in this part:
"APA’s Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Boys and Men. One of the clearest markers of the masculinist disorder is an unwillingness to seek treatment for it. The less males go to therapy, the more they prove their psychological infirmity"
Emasculation still leaves the shell of a man. That seems to be the complaint here.

I agree with Joe J. I would add that a high profile sport, where women can make millions of dollars, will suddenly wake people up to this transgender nonsense. Just imagine a transgender person beating Serena Williams or other top female tennis players out of millions of dollars.

I urge all girls on a female sports team, whether high school or college, to quit their team in protest. Message delivered and also newsworthy.

I'd like to think that if Caitlyn Jenner didn't align herself with the Republicans, she would be able to put a stop to all this.

Well, Yale costs 77k per year. Frankly I can see why students might expect spa services with that. With prices like that, yeah, students see themselves as consumers.

Naw. Liberal icons often freak out about other liberals not being liberal enough. Plenty get thrown under the bus. See, {black man who states white man doesn't keep him down} for an example.
And this is sports. Only in pretending can we make believe that what we call someone changes how the work is done.
Here's how important this is: who is the all-time leading female running back?
Did you know there is one?

One would have to have a heart of stone …

I've said this before: the way to stop this nonsense in sports (and prisons) is to quit using the labels "men's" and "women's" and test for XY chromosomes instead.
