For Whom The Belle Tolls
"You could find any feature of a beauty queen in our cafÈs, but they were all on different girls. A girl who was beautiful all over would pick a better neighborhood." --A.J. Liebling, "Between Meals -- An Appetite For Paris"
Amy, is there a linked article here? Or is this quote going to stand on its own merit?

It's a book, actually. I just liked the quote.

Well, it is interesting... So, that which we call "beautiful" is merely a collection of several attractive individual features on one face and body.
My standards of beauty seem to change depending on whom I'm with. Don will never be on the cover of GQ, but I couldn't improve his looks in my mind, even if I could change him any way I wanted.

Well, anthropologist Donald Symons says "Beauty is in the adaptations of the beholder," and he's right. We evolved to prefer the looks that are most likely to pass on our genes, and in flying colors. Symmetry, hourglass figure on an average woman (fertility indicator), tallness in men, etc.

Well, I could say that I'm sophisticated enough to revise my standards of beauty as I draw close in my relationships... or I could just tell it like it is and say I'm a non-particular slut who will sleep with anything.
