Right, Right, And Center
A survey by the left-leaning media watchdog, FAIR, says NPR mostly uses sources who are Republicans:

"Republicans not only had a substantial partisan edge," according to a report accompanying the survey, "individual Republicans were NPR's most popular sources overall, taking the top seven spots in frequency of appearance." In addition, representatives of right-of-center think tanks outnumbered their leftist counterparts by more than four to one, FAIR reported.

Yes, even the liberal-est of the liberal media leans conservative!

Coulter, bless her pointed little head, claimed on C-Span that a freakishly high percentage of NPR's listeners are conservative. I believe it, though I asked her office for the cite and they never got back to me. (She also noted that the reason the C-span networks switched from a single caller to one each for Dems and Reps was that the proportion of Dem callers was far too low otherwise. Lamb copped to this.)

But there's a much better reason to avoid NPR and network news than intricate politics: Those people are IRREDEEMABLY pompous. Seriously, don't you just want to take a piss into the pocket of Peter Jennings' blazer? Ditto Cokie and Lakshmi Sing?

Whoops, that should read single caller PHONE LINE...

"bless her pointed little head"

First, Todd Rundgren... now, Jefferson Airplane!?!

By the way, I can't stand Cokie Cokehead. She's the Liz Smith of the Beltway.

And that satisfies my need for a "One-a-Day Plus Irony."

Meee-yow!

Thought you'd get a kick out of that, Crid.

I agree with you on Cokie, Lena, she's always been insufferable, even when she was starting out on NPR. But if both your parents were life-long members of Congress, maybe you're just wired that way.
