The Paris Of The Midwest

Yes, I'm in Detroit for the weekend.

We're staying at the fabulous airport Westin, but we did tour some of the nitty-gritty hotspots.

Nance, next time I'm in town for more than a moment, we'll have to meet at Club Med! PS I took these photos when we took Gregg's mom to lunch at Tom's oyster bar, which has FAAAABULOUS food...fabulous by California/New York standards. (I had the duck salad.)

Do that. Did you go to the Tom's OB in Grosse Pointe? I agree -- great food. And it's a sailor's hangout.

I recognized the Village Idiot from my occasional drives in and out of downtown on Jefferson, which I like to take if time isn't short.

Hmmm. I don't know if it was Grosse Pointe. It didn't look like a ritzy neighborhood! It was a corner store-front with a nice dark bar and then a room with blue checked tablecloths.
