And what's the deal with all prices ending in ...9.99?? Do they really think we don't know that $59.99 is $60???
I've been told that Sears Roebuck started that nonsense, donkeys years ago, to force their sales clerks to open the cash register to make change (too easy for a customer to come up with $60 cash that goes straight into the clerk's pocket, see?). But FFS, these days so few people pay cash the whole thing has become ridiculous. Round up, please, round up!!!
