In America, Anybody Can Be Senator
Jon Stewart has the audio (as video) on Senator Stevens on them tubes that make up the Internets.
How drunk did the Alaska constituents have to be to vote for this guy? Hmmm...then again...how drunk did we all have to be to vote for the morons and sell-outs representing most of the rest of us?

To get elected to high office in most of the US, all you have to do is: attack abortion, ("the killing of babies") attack gay marriage ("it's against the word of god and promotes AIDS")promote school prayer/religious symbols on public property ("the nation can't survive without the blessings of the almighty") and, with the subtle assistance of your local ministers/priests, infer that the war is justified to prevent "Islamic hoards from destroying our Christian country". Want to get elected? This line of bullshit will now get you into congress, etc, in most of the US!

he's my senator, but i didn't vote for him. actually, the last time i voted here, it didn't count at all. this whole state is pretty far to the right, actually. and the oil money doesn't help.
speaking of the daily show, did anybody else google "santorum"?
