How Come God Never Tells Anyone To Clean Between Their Toes And Shut Up?
Republican congressional candidate Michele Bachmann says:

God then called me to run for the United States Congress...

Any word on God's mother-in-law or his spastic colon?

Amy, I don't know about his mother in law, but the King James Bible (Isaiah 16:11) seems to be clear about his spastic colon: "Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh." Bachmann also went on to say, "You are now looking at a fool for Christ." Again, we must turn to Gawd's most holy book in 1st Corinthians 1:19: "It is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." Is it any wonder why our country is so fucked up by other Republicans who seem to share Bachmann's philosophy?

I fucking hate people who think God talks to them. It's the most egomaniacal thing I can think of. Seriously, THE ALMIGHTY ALL-KNOWING ALL-POWERFUL CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE takes time out of his busy day to instruct you on mundane tasks, while he's letting millions of others suffer and die for no reason whatsoever? That is so arrogant that I lack the vocabulary to express my disgust for it.

That was, I think, the idea behind the "God sees a little sparrow fall" story : not thinking as if "Gawd" had our viewpoint.
I stopped worrying about talking to myself years ago : I just want good answers.
Hearing "voices" is a sign fof recognized mental illness. GWB hears 'em.
Time for that silly flicking one's finger up and down over one's lips while vocalizing vowels.

Not necessarily. It's called "intuition", and everybody has it. The problem is when some people are so full of themselves that they start believing that their inner dialogue is some sort of spiritual pronouncement from on high.
