If Saddam Were Still In Power...
From Crooks & Liars, the "Bushism of the Day," spoken by George W. Bush during the second presidential debate, 10/08/2004, in St. Louis, Missouri:

The truth of that matter is, if you listen carefully, Saddam would still be in power if he were the president of the United States, and the world would be a lot better off.

–George W. Bush

Uh, WHAAAAT? This makes no sense whatsoever. Unless of course, Bush likens himself to Saddam Hussein. Which, come to think of it, that's not really such a bad comparison. Both have demonstrable contempt for those classes that don't support them.

Personally, my favorite Bushism is this one:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." -—Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004
