Nah, that's just like my shoe retirement ritual. I usually stand in a spot where something significant happened to me during my shoes' tenure and then take a picture, unlace and walk away. I guess it's part of my substitute religion.
At least they are perfectly aligned! Are you sure there wasn't an invisible person in them, waiting for a bus perhaps?
