I'm sorely tempted to do the same thing on my street. Even though it's a residential neighborhood and there's a park and a playground on one side, some assholes go zooming down this street at 40+ mph. And a good number of the speeders are parents dropping their kids off at the neighborhood school!

The sad thing is, the people you mean it for, almost never think it means them. "Oh no, they can't possibly mean me!" as they go speeding along on their merry way to wherever.

Sign near my office: "Slow Down, Dumb Dogs and Children Playing."

Does not work.

I'm terrified of hitting and hurting or killing a person or an animal in my car. I don't understand why other people don't seem to feel that way.

It's simple, Amy. You are more aware of others than others are aware of anything other than themselves.

There is a lot of recent road constuction just south of were I live, so people are consanty shooting down my street to avoid it.

I live in a 25mph zone and there are signs everywhere saying "deaf child" but they blast passed my house doing 60mph, half the time illegally passing someone doing 45.

So I went to the dollar store and bought dozens of balls, evey time I hear an engine comng down my road at high speed I kick one down my drivway and out into the road.
You'd think that would cause most people to slam on their brakes and nearly have a heart attck, but it is disturbing how many people still wont slow down
