Erasing Women To Suck Up To Trans Activists
I about threw up when I saw what the American "Civil Liberties" Union did to a Ruth Bader Ginsburg quote about women's rights. Women's rights! A bunch of changes that erased women!
Set aside your view of abortion, because it's about that. The issue is the ACLU joining in the ridiculous push to contort how we describe women to remove being born female from the equation.
Female people (aka women) are people whose bodies will produce eggs, whether or not they have functional ovaries. Male people (men) are people born with bodies that produce sperm -- even if a person who has sperm decides to "identify" as a woman, a turkey, or a paperweight.
And let me be clear: If someone born with a body that produces sperm wants me to call them "she" and "her" and refer to them with a name like Sally or Emma, I'll do my best to remember that, because it's kind and respectful, and I like to be both of those things.
This, however, does not make them the other sex, and believing that simply makes me a biological realist, though a trans activist would deem me a "bigot" or something along those lines.
Karol Markowicz takes on the current crap from the ACLU in her NY Post column. An excerpt:
In the latest move to make the female sex simply disappear, the American Civil Liberties Union altered a Ruth Bader Ginsburg quote, on the anniversary of her death, to remove any mention of women. The ACLU account tweeted: "The decision whether or not to bear a child is central to a [person's] life, to [their] well-being and dignity. When the government controls that decision for [people], [they are] being treated as less than a fully adult human responsible for [their] own choices."
...Once advocates for free expression, the ACLU now stands for conformity -- imposing the speech codes and cues that enforce access to the in-group. They're not starting with editing their own website, of course, they're cutting through the comments of a prominent woman. It's easier to rewrite a dead woman's words to fit in with the acceptable mores than have to untwist the pretzel logic that makes abortion important because it gives women a right to choose while also arguing not only women get abortions.
By changing RGB's words, the ACLU isn't just disrespecting the justice -- they are erasing her.
And it's happening all over. Male dominated sports haven't seen an influx of trans men. Male spas don't have trans men trying to get in. The word "father" remains unchanged even as the Biden administration switches out "mother" for "birthing person" in their 2022 fiscal year budget in a section about, ahem, maternal mortality. We'll need some extra safe spaces if anyone looks up what "maternal" means.
When Office of Management and Budget Deputy Director Shalanda Young was asked about the "birthing person" usage she said "We think our language needs to be more inclusive."
No, it doesn't. I'm a woman who birthed children and became a mother. Those words mean something and I'm not about to surrender them on some altar of wokeness to be polite. There's nothing "inclusive" about erasing women. The term that is core to our identity is being replaced with something else. Nothing about that is OK and no woman should stand for it. Ruth Bader Ginsburg wouldn't have.
Well, I guess we will see if the "woke" party cannibalizes itself. I'm looking forward to the mental gymnastics.

I guess it's really true: you oldthinkers unbellyfeel Ingsoc.
Comrade Karol really isn't recognizing Party needs.
By any chance, this "administration", you know, using the term, "birthing person"...
You voted for that, didn't you?
Man, that's never gonna get old.

There are definitely transmen trying to get into gay bathhouses, and remember that article a while back about the transman who went to a gay orgy and was sad no one wanted to bang her?
But yeah. In general, transwomen get to be Glamour woman of the year or highest paid female CEO, transmen get to make ads for period underwear and get interviewed about being pregnant.

I don't know if I've mentioned it before but I think the Babylon Bee is a shit parody site. Mainly because I think the this world and its institutions are already a parody of themselves. What the ACLU has become is already a farce and beyond parody. If we ever invent time machines, I'm going to a wacky prank show where I show past ACLU members what they've become and get their reactions.

RBG was never the "woke" liberal the left tried, and still tries, to make her out to be. She was a liberal, an unapologetic one at that, but she retained a practical and realistic bent to her liberalism. Her ability to bond in friendship with Scalia was proof enough that she was not an ideologue or a culture warrior.

If you are going to steal rights you steal from those who have more rights, women. Society protects or protected women, not men.

If a woman "transitions" to male by taking hormones, it seems to me very dangerous for the baby if she gets pregnant. And of course the study of this is forbidden. If she goes further and has a mastectomy, even worse for the baby--no breast-feeding (or, ugh, chest-feeding).
The urge to eliminate women and the family seems so perverse.

While I am certainly NOT a fan of Ginsburg; to change her quote is to misrepresent what she actually said.
Such actions are always done by those who are actively trying to deceive others. In other words - f'ing liars!

"Once advocates for free expression, the ACLU ..."
The only free expression the ACLU ever cared about was that of the American Communist Party.
