British Muslim Wants Beer Drinkers Publicly Flogged
Pat Condell is at his best on Britain's latest homegrown Muslim nutbag, Anjem Choudary, the cleric who wants to see the country ruled by Sharia law:
Here's the barbarian Choudary saying all gays should be stoned to death. Here's Choudary before he found his way to "the religion of peace," "swilling beer, smoking dope and leering at porn," per a Daily Mail story.

I've never watched more than five seconds of one of those videos because that guy creeps me out. It's an old joke: Atheist are dull, all they want to talk about it God.
I don't know who that guy is. But shouldn't a well-groomed man of his age with many nice sweaters have a funner hobby that taking video of himself? Just sayin'.

I suppose he could take a page from the religous folks and just kill those who disagree with him
But then atheits are morally superior to beleivers

I dunno - is it any stranger than hanging around blogs, writing comments?
By being a decent speaker and making videos, he has acquired a reasonable large audience for his opinions. Probably larger than the audience that reads our comments here...

Crid, he's doing us all a big favor, exposing Anjem Choudary for what he really is, which is a rabble-rousing islamist dickhead! I like him! More people should be like him a speak up against these Allah's ass-kissing, misguided miscreants! o.O

I thought I read somewhere that Mr. Condell actually has a bona fide career as a standup comedian in Britain. Is that right? I seem to recall reading that this video stuff was just a sideline of his performing career. Any Brits here who can comment?

I don't find him creepy. I think he's, at the very least, entertaining. And I agree with his discussion of various double standards that we know exist in the western world with Islam.
Would anyone in Canada be put before a panel of nut job "human rights" commissioners for outraging a priest over a priest-as-child-molester cartoon? I think not - and in fact, I think a lot of folks would get a good chuckle and think to themselves "dirty motherfuckers." (Check out Ezra Levant's site if you haven't been following.)
I enjoy Mr. Condell.

I'd have to think if there is any way to wake up Brits. it'll be trying to take their beer away and shut the pubs... heh, I'd like to see someone try.
SwissArmyD at March 26, 2009 9:20 AM
Sheik Hilaly (from a few posts back) could coach Choudary on how to deny it all by stating that the photos were doctored.
SwissArmyD- the pubs are rapidly closing anyway, from the economy and a ban on smoking.

A ban on smoking is closing pubs in the UK? Really? There was a big uproar about that here when they did it January 1, 2008. Business declined for about 6 months. Now we're back to having standing room only in the pubs. The Brits must like their smoking more than their Canadian cousins!
I heard a recent stat saying alcohol sales were actualy up in Canada with the recession. But they did say drinking out was down while drinking at home was up.

I'm glad Amy posts his videos. I never heard of him before she did but like him so much that I have gone to You Tube and searched out more.
I think he's admirable to speak up and continue to do with the nutbag laws against blasphemy. He writes his little speeches very well, says what he has to say very directly and effectively but with a wry little humor thrown in (and British humor usually leaves me cold, I usually find it very corny). If he's making a living as a stand-up (don't know), good. Though he should be just as an orator. He excels at that. Can't help but compare him to Ingersoll and can't help but think Ingersoll would do it the same way today.

I like Pat Condell's commentary. It is so ironic that the savages who rant about killing homosexuals and flogging drinkers are the same savages who get their feelings hurt so insanely easy.

PS- Do I detect a hint of Reverie Au Jardin?
Eric at March 26, 2009 1:28 PM
Creepyspooky. Too direct. Nothing but the imploring man in the imploring sweater in front of the plain white background. ("I'm not hiding anything!") And the natural light. ("Up 'n at 'em at at the crack of dawn with nothing but the natural, sustainable truth!")

Austin has banned all indoor public smoking, including bars. The barowners were in an uproar. Business actually increased post-ban. When I bartended, I had a permanently sore throat from second hand smoke. I'm glad it's gone.
All I can contribute here is a tangent to a tangent.

I love the up tightly dressed brit using the word dickhead so casually.
"When I bartended, I had a permanently sore throat from second hand smoke." So get another job, is bar tending the only thing you could do at the time? I quite a while back (and never smoked inside the house) but I still oppose the smoking ban. It's a fucking bar, if you don't want smoke don't go in, or start up a smoke free place. Even cigar bars have smoking bans which as you can guess shut them down. There is luckily one place in Boston that was grandfathered in prior to the US (pre 1776) that avoided the ban. People smoke in bars it just don't go in. Just mandate a certain percentage of smoke free places if you must but the ban was bull shit. In order to get around the ban many places require membership which is a pain in the ass.

"So get another job, is bar tending the only thing you could do at the time? "
Bullshit. The same holds for any workplace health standards.
Chasing the smokers out is a small price to pay to get a drink and a smile from Momof3.

Yeah, sure, quite a job where I made hundreds a night with my clothes on. Right. I made my choice, worked and suffered, but am glad others don't have to. And, like I said, bars here saw their business pick up, not drop. Turns out even smokers don't like being smothered in it. We have patios.
