Pat Condell On The Ground Zero Mosque
Can you believe they're going to have their opening ceremony on September 11? Do you really think it's an accident that they're building it in spitting distance from Ground Zero?
Here's Robert Spencer at Human Events on the placement of mosques:
The placement of mosques throughout Islamic history has been an expression of conquest and superiority over non-Muslims. Muslims built the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock on the site of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem in order to proclaim Islam's superiority to Judaism. The Umayyad Mosque in Damascus was built over the Church of St. John the Baptist, and the Hagia Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople was converted into a mosque, to express the superiority of Islam over Christianity. Historian Sita Ram Goel has estimated that over 2,000 mosques in India were built on the sites of Hindu temples for the same reason.

All I can say is that we need more people to be aware of this.

What a damn chutzpah.

Whoever allows this to happen deserves what happens in the end.

We are a free society. Anyone should be able to build a building, decorate it to their taste, and call it a Mosque if they wish.
They can offend people by having ceremonies on infamous days such as Sept 11. That is what we must tolerate to have a free culture.
It is a different matter if people use their wealth and buildings to commit crimes and hatch conspiricies. Then, they can be charged criminally and sued civilly.
It isn't our fault if they then lose the building and it is converted into a shopping mall. That is our culture also.

No mention of a room containing a flight simulator, for that we should be doing prayers three times a day, looking East.

I think it would show tolerance if a church would be built in Mecca near the Kaba stone.

"That is what we must tolerate to have a free culture."
They use freedom to TAKE freedom. How do you combat that?

Found this a couple of weeks ago:
"Joan Brown Campbell, director of the Department of Religion at the Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York and former general secretary of the National Council of Churches, admitted that a mosque at Ground Zero could anger infidels. But it was worth it, she said: “Building so close is owning the tragedy.”"
'Owning the tragedy', interesting phrase, isn't it? Tells us a lot.

I got that.

OK, Andrew_M_Garland, let's let them build, rather than use some legal technicality to stop them. Want to bet that Typical Hateful Radical Imam (TM) will be vomiting verbal hate and degradation toward infidels and insufficiently orthodox muslims before you know it?

And many Christian churches in Europe were place over pre-Christian religious sites for exactly the same reason.
I think there needs to be a large liquor store across the street from the mosque entrance.

Andrew, Fritz, and Amy get it. Responding to this by lawyering up, or calling for it, is tacitly admitting that not only you can't do it right back at them, only better, but that you believe your fellow Citizens can't either.
And so in turn not only is that PRONATIONAL TRANSGRESSIVISM FAIL for said admitters, but derogatory towards their fellow Citizens as well.
They have to cheat because they can't compete. Saying we should cheat too is saying we can't compete either.
As for me, I'm with Maril Varga:
Bacon, bacon, bacon!
Morning, noon, and night!

Sadly right Acksiom. Unfortunately, I don't have faith that Americans would fight back because thats not PC... can't be seen as a "hater". Nevermind the Muslims are using that against us.

Thanks to the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act NYC's zoning laws can't be used to block the construction either.
