just remember kids... good guys trying to get their property back, arent the only ones that can use built in cameras this way...
I saw a tweet today about the era of "big spouse" when a guy's wife calls and says "I see you have gotten to the airport..."
If you think all this won't converge at some point, I'd call that naivte. When all money is electronic, and they also know where you are electronically, who is in control? It doesn't matter who "They" are, either.
Bravo for getting the macbook back. I know some people who have similar programs for their cell phones... however, when twitter mobile app for my android phone wanted access to everything ON my phone? Sorry, Rejected.
oops? /rant.

I loved the Oakland PD response, that is, nada - until Good Morning America picked up the story.
Beautiful.

I spent time last night on the phone trying to get the watch commander on duty in my area to enforce the law in regard to an ongoing issue in my neighborhood. He said he'd "see." Love that.

I was just talking to a friend about your blog item -- What Happens When You Steal a Hacker's Computer -- last night.
I've been looking at various apps for my laptop to make it even easier. Anyone has suggestions for a Win7 Pro 64 bit, let me know.
I already have my MAC address and signature, but why not make it easier? Especially when I can get pictures of the jackass in action.

Amy, I think the police generally have a priority list just like everyone else, a macbook is just not that high on that list, especially in a hell hole like oakland

And now with the introduction of Clive Goodman's explosive letter the phone hacking enquiry takes on the appearance of a major scandal, one one perhaps sustantial enough to bring down not just News International (as it certainly should) but the Coalition government as well (as cross-fingers it might). It seems when Cameron said "We're all in this together", he really wasn't kidding, was he? They're ALL of them crooked! LOL!
