PETA: Eat A Piece Of Salmon And It's Like You Just Raped An Old Lady
Among other things. Ridiculous PETA ad "Silent Scream":
Note to PETA -- I believe in killing animals for food as humanely as possible, but when's the last time you saw a fish write something equivalent to the Declaration of Independence?
And, P.S. PETA -- how do we know that lettuce doesn't scream when we pick it?

ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?????
You're going to compare fish for dinner to a woman being abused? A kid being bullied?
OMFG, PETA is a festival of idiots.
Cut the head off that thing and I call it dinner.
I'm having a freaking steak for dinner tomorrow and naming it PETA before I throw that bitch on the grill.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.

"lettuce doesn't scream when we pick it"
As a kid I always thought that trees screamed when we chopped them down...
If I were them I would try to make it more affordable for people to eat grass fed beef, etc. People are never going to stop eating meat so why not figure some shit out on how best we can take care of animals (a la Temple Grandin).
It's the same thing people have against gay or straight sex. It's like it must be completely outlawed. People are never going to stop having sex, so let's figure shit out.
Prohibiting meat (and I mean that both in a sexual and literal sense) is not the answer.

How PETA is not under investigation for supporting domestic terrorists is beyond me.
Oh, and PETA kills too. So sit down and shut up.

Wait, wait...
"...fish feel pain and fear, and they suffer enormously..." says PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange
Based on what? I was unaware that we had such research into fish psychology and nervous systems.
Hey, PETA, let's take care of human suffering first, then we can tackle your 'pet' projects.

That's what bothers me most about PETA - those people truly believe that animals think and reason the same way people do. I believe that Uncle Ted dispels that notion in the best way:
Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan , was being interviewed by a liberal journalist, an animal rights activist. The discussion came around to deer hunting. The journalist asked, ‘What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, ‘Are you my friend?’ or is it ‘Are you the one who killed my brother?
Nugent replied, ‘Deer aren’t capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the Democrats in Congress.’

What about the vegetables!

PETA is ridiculous but at least they entertain us with their craziness.
John Paulson at May 31, 2012 5:47 AM
There is no point in trying to reason with fanatics. They do, however provide a source of amusement. They humiliate themselves so we don't have to. That's another reason to love freedom of speech.

I like me some old-lady rape with butter and a little salt and pepper.
That might have been inappropriate.
Fish are largely creatures of instinct. They may very well feel fear, but it's a huge mistake to think that any animal, especially one so far removed from us, feels things like we do.

PETA does more harm than good for its causes.

I told you guys about my PETA T-shirt, right?

If PETA wanted to end animal cruelty, they would ditch the animal activism and engage in activism for preventing cruelty to humans, this would be a two-for-one because not only would it help bring an end to the massive amounts of human cruelty, but it would also help bring an end to animal cruelty by preventing people from wanting to be cruel to things, animals or people.

the beaut of PETA...
... is that it gathers all the like minded people together, and then I can safely ignore them.
SwissArmyD at May 31, 2012 9:39 AM
Flynne, I too am an avid supporter of People Eating Tasty Animals. I'm so carnivore that the vegetables breath a sigh of relief when I walk in the room. XD
Daghain at May 31, 2012 9:35 PM
I love PETA people, they are just so easy to fuck with.
First get them to that assinaine point that all life is equaly sacred, then hit them with the fact that teraforming for increased crop growth kills more animals then the meat industry, and their policy on killing perfectly heathly companion animals has no moral or ethical legs to stand on.
I love the look on their faces as they scramble to answer how killing an animal for food is worse than killing an animal for no reason whatsoever

"And, P.S. PETA -- how do we know that lettuce doesn't scream when we pick it?"
It does, if not by using sound waves, as it releases chemicals into the soil which if picked up by others will cause them to react. And of course, it bleeds,
John A at June 1, 2012 12:22 PM
PETA hates animals. They "rescue" them, but think pet ownership is "slavery," so the only humane option they can think of is to kill the animals.
Sosij at June 1, 2012 2:58 PM
I've got a lot of friends who are catch and release fishermen now. I wonder if the fish ever get used to it and just sort of go, "meh, again"
smurfy at June 1, 2012 3:09 PM
Oh, snap! This reminds me I need to pick up some salmon for a recipe.
