Personalized Medicine Is The Future
Unfortunately, that's not the direction Obamacare is headed. John Goodman writes at Forbes:
ObamaCare's entire approach to cost control is premised on the idea that we are all alike. And if we aren't alike, everything they are doing doesn't make sense.

Cookie cutter medicine.

And, one more time: if you are not paying, you are not the customer, you are the commodity.
Only the person who PAYS gets to say what is done with their money.

You want personalized medicine, but when it comes to diets you promote a one size fits all diet(not that others promote a personalized one)? Why this contradiction? Is diet not important for health and if medicine should be personalized, then how come diet is to be standardized?

A few months back I tried to have this conversation with a looney lefty chick.
It really was a practice in futility.
I've never seen someone so seemingly well educated, flip the retarded switch so quickly.

Redrajesh:
Sometimes a practice does give blanket benefits.
Do you think that smoking conveys NO deleterious effects to any person, based on their individuality?
No, you do not. Nicotine is poisonous to everyone. So are the tars and other chemicals used to make cigarettes. Yes, there are those people who are affected less by smoking. There are cases of lung cancer which are unrelated to smoking. Yet, there is NO health benefit to smoking. You can see RJ Reynolds say so.
So, yes. Humanity is built a particular way. Some foods, popular ones, are universally bad for you in the long run. You do not have to talk to anyone selling a book, or promoting themselves, to find this out. All you have to do is talk to a proctologist, who will tell you that no matter who you are, you cannot hurt yourself stuffing your face with greens, and that you should eat as though you had to catch your own meal.
Sitting at a desk all day, then riding in air-conditioning to get a Big Mac is not healthy for anyone. This should be obvious.

"Yes, there are those people who are affected less by smoking"
Aren't individual human genes so fascinating? My grandfather smoked several packs from 12 years to his death of 78. He did not die of lung cancer or any cancer.
Some people of Northern European descent are naturally immune to HIV. (Some hookers in Africa too but for totally different reasons).

Golden expression.

That's how I feel about people who say things are "scary" and think they've made their case. (see here)
