Chris Kyle’s death seems to confirm that “he who lives by the sword dies by the sword.” Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn’t make sense -- Ron Paul (@RonPaul) February 4, 2013
As a veteran, I certainly recognize that this weekend's violence and killing of Chris Kyle were a tragic and sad event. My condolences and prayers go out to Mr. Kyle’s family. Unconstitutional and unnecessary wars have endless unintended consequences. A policy of non-violence, as Christ preached, would have prevented this and similar tragedies. -REP
Regardless of the follow-up the inclusion of "Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn’t make sense" in the original twit comment just invalidates any explanation.
While he may not be psychiatrist, he should have recognized there are many effective therapies for PTSD that don't fit in the DSM-IV.
There is no way at all to excuse the original tweet.
I voted for Ron Paul in the primaries. He is now on my permanent shit list.

Jim, I'm surprised that anyone is surprised. There may be a lot to admire about Ron Paul's fiscal policy, but when it comes to military and defense issues, he's to the left of Obama. I'm hoping that Rand Paul can adopt the good bits of Ron's philosophy without any of the crazy.

Those who don't live by the sword can also die by it. Especially if there aren't people with swords somewhere protecting them.
Iatrogenesis, or an iatrogenic artifact (pron.: /aɪˌætroʊˈdʒɛnɪk/; "originating from a physician") is an inadvertent adverse effect or complication resulting from medical treatment or advice...

I'm in the high-medium voter attention span. I generally don't listen to the speeches of any politician from beginning to end, or live. But if the politician makes a statement that grabs attention or I don't agree with I look for the context.
Such as Hillary with Ben Ghazi testimony, F&F, Romney with WaWa, etc.
In the past, I heard Ron Paul's rants against the U.S. military adventurism. I can agree with that. But that stance that he articulated, previously, was always separate from the actual military forces being used.
I was brought up even if it was a "Hatfield" vs "McCoy" or if MaDoff died the thing that you say to the family or in the public square is "I'm sorry for your (their) loss."
You don't slam the dead person or put into the public square your disagreement with them as part of their death. RP did this.
I'm trying not to split hairs, but there is a decorum. Later on, if you can find fault with the victim, then you place blame. RP placed blame on the victim immediately and did not consider what Chris Kyle's objectives.

He's a faith-oriented person who frequently reminds the lord he needs 24 hours notice of a nuclear strike so he can get to his underground bunker.

That just loses me.
