A Great Way To Get Coconut Oil Without Eating It
Thanks to the person who ordered this from Amazon, giving me the kickback: NOW Foods Virgin Coconut Oil 1000mg, 120 Softgels
And actually, that one above requires you to take three capsules to get the 1,000 milligrams, and this requires just one capsule: Jarrow Formulas Coconut Oil (Extra Virgin), 1000mg, 100% Certified Organic, 120 Softgels
I'm going to get Gregg to order the latter ones, because coconut oil is really healthy -- but, like many people, he can't seem to get into the idea of heating it with half-and-half and putting it in tea, and he should be consuming it daily for the Medium Chain Triglycerides.
I also think it may help keep me from getting sick. I'm under a huge amount of stress right now, due to my book deadline, and working rather punishing hours. (When I turn my book in, I'm going to go to a park and drool for a week.

And thanks to all who buy through my Amazon links. Your purchases help fund this site and keep my lights on, and are much-appreciated.

Well my sister's Christmas gift was this olive oil.
They don't sell it on Amazon, otherwise you would have got a cut. :-(
But of course, to me, cooking oil is cooking oil.

I think thanks to reading you, I bought some. I like to make scrambled eggs and eggs over easy in it.
I find coconut oil really makes a cheap non-stick pan like magically non-stick and the scrambled eggs come out with this amazing yellow color, no hint of brown burned spots at all.
By the time the eggs are done, the oil has been absorbed into them so the pan is left pretty clean.

That was me. I hate the taste of coconut oil. I've tried...can't deal with it in food.
Jim, you shouldn't cook with olive oil. It has a low smoke point and can turn into trans-fats at higher temperatures.
I cook with grapeseed oil which has a high smoke point and won't turn at high temps. I also use it as moisturizer. Hubby teases me about being a salad.

Katrina,
I love coconut milk in my Tom Kha Kai, but otherwise, coconut is disgusting stuff.
BUT, some coconut oils have no coconut taste, for example,
Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil (Refined Expeller-Pressed) has no coconut taste.

I haven't done anything with coconut oil yet. Thinking about it though.
I haven't been sick in a year and a half, not even a cold. I credit the vitamin D3 supplements that I take.

Thanks jerry. I'll stick with the capsules-easier for me. Though after a number of years, I have discovered that I do like Coquito (basically Spanish eggnog) which is made with coconut. Missed it this holiday season (pregnant). Looking forward to next years.
You're welcome Amy.
Isab - D3 is great too. I just got over my first cold in about a year and a half and I credit the D3 as well. Also, never got the flu when my husband and kids were all going through a month or so ago.
I've also been better about getting enough sleep (so I think it isn't all the D3). I've stopped doing activities that lead to sleep deprivation. I used to get colds 2 - 4 times a year. And in my much younger and wilder days, I would get strep and/or bronchitis every year.

Eades told me to take the magnesium before bedtime, as it's a relaxant.
Gregg tried my brew of coconut oil foamed in half-and-half in chamomile, and if Gregg said things like "It tastes like ass," that's what he would have said. I'm glad I found these caps through your purchase, Katrina!
