Oh, The Casual Elegance Of Being An Author
Working on the last section of my final chapter. (Those are the little cut-up pieces on the left -- trying to figure out the order.)
I have to turn in the finished manuscript for my next book, "Good Manners For Nice People Who Sometimes Say F*ck," to my editor at St. Martin's on Monday morning (which is also the first of my two column deadline days)!
In short: Eeeeeeeeeeeek!
By the way, I can't remember which author tweeted this, but I'm with him: I feel like I live in a used bookstore with an oven.

Guess you picked a bad day to quit amphetamines :-)

Hah - this is me ON amphetamines. By prescription.
Without them, my house would look FEMA-ready.
Hmmm...which, maybe it already does.

Looks neater than my room right now.

Way neater than my office, at any rate. Miss Alkon, you're old school! When you cut and paste, it looks like you literally cut and paste!
Best of luck, by the way -- we're all looking forward to your book!

You should see my home office. Imagine this but with highlighted scripts and sheet music scattered everywhere. I mean, everywhere. And it starts to trail into the dining room that's connected. But I can tell you exactly what piece of paper is what and from what show the music is from. It amazes my husband.
Pirate stole my car and drove it into a cow standing in front of a telephone pole.

LOL!
It looks like my teenagers bedroom before exam day.
Good Luck Amy!

"Casual elegance." Heh. I feel your pain. I own a sailboat. Everyone immediately goes straight to champagne cocktails at sunset and effortlessly gliding across tropical lagoons.
Yachting is about lying on your back, on gravel, scrubbing green sticky goo off of a hull.
Pirates milk dry telephone poles.

Looking forward to reading your new book. It's very cool seeing an author in the final stages of work! Having been a graphic designer, I didn't know cutting and pasting was also utilized by writers!
All the best!

And yes, sometimes I have to cut up the pieces and look at them on the rug to figure out where they all go! (Don't know about other writers. People with better memory can maybe do it in their head.)
