Maybe for someone's birthday. But when it comes to Christmas, a lot of us pretty much resent having to buy stuff for adults who would probably rather get stuff OUT of their lives - so some restrict it to one present to each couple, for example.
And as for the suggestion some make to give Xmas presents only to children.....
