Mom Meets Pinterest. Well, Almost.
I sent my mom a link to a quote from my book that I thought she and my dad would find amusing. She wrote back:
Amy,
Is this from you?
What is Pinterest?
I am suspicious of being hacked when I have to click on a site I am not familiar with.
Mother
My reply:
Yes, it's from me. Mom, hackers are not funny and do not promote books that happen to be written by your daughter.

LMAO funny! Coffee spewing out of my mouth!
Have had many many discussions w/my Mom about clicking on links from people she does not know. Good luck!

Thanks -- it's rather hilarious. Then again, I was touched that my mom made her first order on Amazon ever...even signed up for it...so she could pre-order my book.
I told somebody at my publisher this -- that my mom ordered my book!...noting that this would not normally be a big deal but that my mother believes that any transaction on the Internet is likely to cause Nigerian hackers to reach through her computer in the dead of night, rob their house, and leave them for dead.
