"some families who have immigrated here from countries that still practice circumcision are intent on bringing their American-born teenage girls in line with customs back home. They are accomplishing this by sending their daughters on vacations that are about helping "them connect with their families and traditions," "

"Fifty years ago, it was almost a certainty that healthy baby boys in the United States would be circumcised at birth. Rates of infant circumcision in 1960 hovered near 90 percent ... some areas now see fewer than 50 percent of their boys being circumcised
... our national affinity for circumcision stands nearly alone among the developed nations
... estimated 80 percent of males in the world are intact
... "Removing it is technically only a cosmetic procedure," Garrett says, "one that is no longer covered by Medicaid, and we typically don't perform cosmetic procedures without first gaining the person's consent."
... in general, the more educated parents are, the less likely they are to choose it.
... "I expect the downward trend of circumcision to continue," Garrett said.

Hey Lobster! Are you still pretending that your goofy friend from Harriman, Tennessee is "a scientific journal"?
Because if you are, I think that makes you a ninny-man. Or ninny-woman, depending, though we might be surprised if anyone did.
PS- You're an asshole for pretending male and female circumcision are even conversationally contiguous topics. A naive, dimwitted fuckhead.
Right, cutting off perfectly healthy sections of infant male genitalia is nothing at all like cutting off perfectly healthy sections of infant female genitalia.

- Young lady learns she's been awarded a merit scholarship to attend UConn.
- Two years later, young lady finds out she's actually been awarded a diversity scholarship.

Yeah, Old RPM Daddy, that's an interesting story. I personally don't blame her for suing the school. If she went out on job interviews and proudly proclaimed that she had received the Vice Provost's scholarship, someone would have done some checking and discovered the scholarship didn't exist. They wouldn't hire her because, from their perspective, she flat out LIED to them.
Dood, you didn't answer the question. And it's important.
Because it's starting to seem like you're maybe a troubled guy... Or gal... The sort of broken teacup who doesn't feel sufficient attention has been paid to his/her deep interior hurts, and is willing to pretend that they're part of a much larger, and much more odious body of suffering by a class of people who've truly earned our deep concern...

Once you got old enough, they're both pretty cute.

Why is it that drawing a single drop of blood from a pinprick is also illegal then?
Why is it ALL forms of FGM are illegal in first world countries, even the several types that cause less harm than circumcision?
