Modern Feminism Tends To Be About Clamoring For Special Rights Under The Guise Of Equal Rights
That's been my contention.

"Most of what passes for feminism nowadays is just latter day puritanical embarrassment and Victorian hypocrisy"
Discuss.

Yes, of course, and that is the way the gay marriage lobby is heading also.
First it was about equal rights. Now it is about punishing anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with them, or supports or in any way supported what they perceive if as the opposition.
The kiddie porn over reach is part and parcel of making sure as much of normal hetro behavior as possible is punished, while homosexual behavior even among minors, will get a
Pass because it...is...who..they..are... (Special people with 'triggers' who must be catered to. )
Watch and See.

It's the same thing that happened to all of the 20th-century civil rights movements -- they have all degenerated into special pleading. And the overall effect on American politics has been very negative; the pursuit of raw power under the disguise of "justice" has been a significant factor in stripping American government of whatever moral authority it had. Once the concept of natural rights is eliminated, and everyting is reduced to who's the biggest and best connected/organized, then there is no longer any morality standing in the way of any group using violence to pursue its aims. If politics is simply war by other means, then why not actual war? The group that strikes first will have a tactical advantage.
(And I think that most women realize that they do not want to live in such a world. They know that men are, on averge, better physically and mentally prepared to survive in a world of war than women are.)

Yes indeed. And as long as we have government there will be those who want to hijack that power for their own purposes. It's the nature of the beast. Kill the beast.

I think the reason this happens to movements like feminism, gay rights, etc, is because once reasonable people have gotten what they want, they check out of the movement without dismantling the infrastructure, leaving it to be run by increasingly crazy and implacable zealots.
