Best tweet I've seen in a while was a picture of U.S. soldiers going ashore at Omaha beach on D-Day. It said "White Male Privilege - June 6, 1944".

And garbage collectors make good money, especially the ones that get promoted to driver. I asked one from one of the small companies in town what he makes an hour (we have 3 small companies competing against a giant, Rumpke, and the City's own collection division), and he said it's on the order of $22/hr for drivers, plus bad weather pay (something like $0.50 extra for rainy, snowy, or bad days). Seems like a way to decrease the "Wage Gap" to me.

In New York they make like 150,000, at least that's what king of all blacks (on howard stern) used to make.
The younger brother of a friend of mine started as an apprentice garbage man almost 20 years ago now and he was getting $15/hour with great benefits.I think it went to $20 or so after 6 months and no longer an apprentice.

Reminds me of the "gender wars" in which the woman complains that he doesn't help around the house; e.g., washing clothes, doing dishes, housecleaning, etc.
But, if asked if she helps with yard work, fixing the car, or putting on a new roof, etc. She says that is a "man's job."

She says that is a "man's job."
Sometimes she even says that's his 'hobby' that he does for 'fun.'

My favorite feminist-splain for that, which I saw a few years ago, is "That's not nurturing work."
