Dick Of The Day
Guy friends me on Facebook yesterday so he can post an ad for himself and his book on my wall this morning. Deleted, banned. And as I note in "Good Manners for Nice People Who Sometimes Say F*ck":![]()
And no, in case you're wondering, I don't post exciting personal details on Facebook (though perhaps the world is waiting for a photo of my lunch). I post links to stuff on my blog. But it's my wall, my choice, and yes, I'm aware than I can prohibit all people from posting to my wall without my permission. Some people post politely, about stuff relevant to me, and I'm not going to stop them because a few people are assboils.

I dumped Facebook two months ago, and I haven't missed it much. It's way too full of people who think that their politics are an appropriate topic for any discussion at any time. Plus, I've been rather disappointed to find out how illiterate and ignorant some of my acquaintences are.

If my son would call me more often, I might consider dumping facebook. Yeah, I know the phone goes both ways, but he's 26 and in one of THOSE phases.
Meanwhile, I regularly share Amy's links to her blog and columns and enjoy every single picture of Aida (more please).

I occasionally share Amy's stuff, too. And I make sure everyone knows I got it from her.

Not sure where this link should go, but then you posted the "Dick of the Day" so here it is.
A dildo that holds your dead lover's ashes.

I suppose, Gog, that is marginally better than a dildo that holds your dead lovers organ

Patrick, you're great about that. And thank you, Annie!
My problem, Cousin Dave -- and the subject of this post -- is people who post THEIR politics on YOUR WALL. Comments are fine. But not a whole post of their choice!

Well, it does allow you to keep the ashes -- at least temporarily -- in your "special place."
Amy Alkon at April 28, 2015 4:38 AM
Amy, my main problem was that I belonged to a number of special-interest groups where politics was completely off-topic, and yet people were still posting political stuff to them, and the group moderators either let it go because they agreed with them, or else they couldn't control them.
