"Grievance Feminism": What Feminism Has Become
At CampusReform.org, in a piece by Mariana Barillas, Christina Hoff Sommers describes college campuses increasingly dominated by what she calls "grievance feminism":
Sommers said that many modern students have come to regard a "grim feminist worldview as incontrovertible truth and most seem to be unaware that there is a reasonable, empirically based argument contrary to what they believe," describing first and second wave feminism as "great American success stories" that "led, for the most part, to the liberation of women."..."I think this movement is not really about protecting vulnerable students. I think it is a way to assert power and control over others. It is a way of asserting your cause without having to offer evidence and argument" and to instead "shame people, intimidate them, and silence them," Sommers said.
Sommers said that even liberal professors are "terrified" of some of these developments and they are "not used to challenging the politically correct Left." She said that some of the professors she has talked to told her they were "scared they would say something that would make a student uncomfortable."
This is not the mark of freedom but of authoritarianism, which is what much of feminism has become.

Fuck them, why should I feel bad for these cowards who were more than happy to use the PC powers for their own gain now that they are no longer part of the in crowd?

I'm w/lujlp. This did not happen in a vacuum. They were proud of not having non-PC types in their midst and on their campuses.
Let 'em rot in their own mess. This is a decades old problem going back to WWII at least. Not new just 'cause it affects them.

Current and former professors like Sommers and Kipnis have been fighting the good fight. Alas, many others have been encouraging this atmosphere, no doubt convinced it would only be used to wage war on conservative white men. "When they came for the conservative white men, I said nothing..."

As with the others I say fuck'em. They've encouraged this mob rule mentality for over 50 years. Maybe once the mob burns them down we can all agree mob rule is a bad idea.
As for grievance types. It is all about never believing you are wrong. If you are the under dog and constantly oppressed then you are 'justified' in whatever action you take against your oppressor. Just like the stuff in Boston. It is 'ok' to burn and loot your neighbors business because you've been oppressed. You are just making the world a little more fair by taking what you've unfairly been denied.
Unfortunately my sister fully buys into this stuff. It doesn't matter how much real evidence you have that she is the oppressor. In her mind she is always on bottom, so no matter what she does she is only evening the scales a little.
An inherently immoral philosophy in my view. And why I rarely talk to my sister. Who wants to listen to hours of pointless whining?

Feminism is a means to achieve a Marxist goal. To stop complaining is to lose this effective means to achieve the Marxist goal. They will keep complaining and keep using the grievance feminism as long as it works. Because as long as it can catch the mice, it doesn't matter what color is the cat.

Someone get sick of living in a suburb near the city so they bu a slightly larger house in a cookie cutter subdivision 50 miles further out where "the traffic is better" and "you can see the stars" and the fist thing they do is push for incorporation so they can rezone the dairy so it is forced to move, and then rezone the farm field because "I don wanna drive 30 miles to shop" and "theres nowhere to eat"
And 5 years later you cant see the stars because a dozen more subdivision popped up with all their street lights, and the egales move off your property because all your neighbors poisoned the gophers and they have nothing to eat and the vegans start making BS animal abuse complaints becuase you told them to fuck off when they told you to stop raising meat where they could see it.
No they made the mess they can damn well live with it - because they dont see the system they helped create as the problem, only the fact that its turned against them
Let them flee and they'll gladly recreate that same system only to use it more harshly to retain their power the next time around
