I think this has to be related to all the Yankees thinking things like ribs and corn on the cob and fried chicken and watermelon are black foods, when they're really just southern foods the blacks took north with them. BBQ is a southern thing. So, of course it must be racist? But what if the pitmaster is black? Is he an uncle Tom? Or only an Uncle Tom is he sells to white folk? Inquiring hungry carnivores need to know!

To answer my own question: it's North Alabama BBQ Why? Because we have white sauce!
