By most accounts, Viola Davis’ speech at the Emmys was an instant classic. She directly addressed the lack of diversity on television, saying, “The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity.”
But Davis’ words about race made one actress feel uncomfortable.
Sunday night, "General Hospital" actress Nancy Lee Grahn, who is white, took to Twitter and said that the Emmys were not a “venue [for] racial opportunity” and that Viola Davis “has never been discriminated against.”
Social media was quick to criticize her, and by Sunday evening she was a trending topic on Twitter. Grahn quickly apologized and then fired off a series of tweets that sought to explain her thinking.
“I never expected every black Twitterer to attack … and after being on my knees have no [forgiveness],” she wrote in her series of tweets. She also said that she felt “betrayed” by people she “would’ve marched for."
This was widely criticized as being patronizing, as if her commitment to social justice was predicated on black people being nice to her. Grahn attempted to clarify her stance by saying that she wanted “equality [for] ALL women.” This too was not well received.

Who is Nancy Lee Grahn in this world? (Update: Nancy has tweeted an apology for her remarks.)
Amy; I see three possible explanations for that photo:
1. Yep, education has become that poor in this country. If so, the TV news station needs to do a better job at screening the interns.
2. Some one at the station is a bigot and did it intentionally. This one is hard to believe since so many who want to go into journalism are more liberal leaning that most folks. Many of them are biased; but, so much in an anti-Jewish way.
3. It could very well be a "computer error." What I mean is it really isn't an "error" as much as it is a computer program in which a search for "Jewish Star" brought up that image. And no one bothered to look at it closely. Which takes us back to the first point - the station needs to screen their interns better!

The media is anti-Jewish, charles. They question everything that comes out of Israel, but swallow unquestioning everything that comes out of Gaza or the Palestinian Authority.

IRA Darth Aggie; yes, you are right! I don't watch enough TV news because of their bias; so, I've forgotten how anti-Israeli they can be. With that in mind, I will change my answer to number 2; it could very well have been intentional, with a claim of ignorance.
Trump has a long history of law suits and threatened lawsuits against critics. That is, he frequently attempts to use government power to deprive critics of their free speech rights. That alone should disqualify him from _any_ public office.

While typically I would not read an article about a devout Christian vegan and think, "Hey, Amy might find this interesting"…hey, Amy, you might find this interesting: How Playing the Long Game Made Elizabeth Holmes a Billionaire
(For those wondering, "Holmes is a vegan because avoiding animal products allows her to function on less sleep.")

And Yogi died yesterday, 90 years old. Read the whole obituary; even if you don't care about baseball, it's a fascinating story.

How many people at the station looked at that before they put it up.
It's not like this is ancient history.
