Just in case you have not had your laugh (mine was a sad laugh but ..) of the day I share with you a comment response to someone worrying if free speech should be limited.

"Your implication that matters of social justice are minor issues of "hurt feelings" is disgustingly ignorant, reductive and not constructive. Minorities are already invalidated, assaulted, victimized and marginalized enough... is your ego so weak that you need to dump on them some more? Need a scape goat for your inadequacies? Looking for an easy target? Assuming that's your real picture, you're a white male and have absolutely no right piping in regarding issues of injustice or violence toward minorities unless it's to show them support. No wait, hey you're right - the world needs more opinions from old white men. This world was and is made for white males. If you don't understand that, you're ignorant and should honestly just shut your mouth. You have no idea what it means to be a marginalized minority, what it feels like to be afraid walking down the street because of an aspect of your identity that you have no control over. So please, hold your ignorant, privileged tongue and leave the conversation of injustice to people who have actual experience with it and can add to the conversation. You are holding back equality and progress."

"The Home Office minister Richard Harrington has recently admitted that there are more than 30,000 known (an important qualifier) illegal asylum seekers who cannot be deported because he doesn’t know where to send them. They won’t tell him where they’ve come from, no matter how pleasantly he broaches his enquiries. And they’ve all burned their passports. So under the Dublin Convention none of them can be kicked out, and in any case Mr Harrington hasn’t got a clue what country they should be deported to."
