In 2010, things in Iraq were so peaceful that Joe Biden was bragging that the administration’s Iraq policy would be “one of the great achievements of this administration.” In 2012, with Clinton still serving as secretary of State, President Obama bragged about “ending” the war in Iraq, which would be news to the thousands of U.S. troops fighting there today.

Then there’s Libya. According to The New York Times, Clinton played a "critical” role in persuading Obama to topple Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi. This led to what The Atlantic''s Conor Friedersdorf calls her ”failed war in Libya.” Despite her pronouncement that "We came, we saw, he died” after Gadhafi's death, the Libya intervention has been a debacle, and one that Clinton has refused to acknowledge as such.

Somehow, Vladimir Putin has mysteriously transformed from being a guy we can deal with, no sort of threat, to the devilish figure secretly tearing America apart. What on earth is going on here?

What’s going on is Moscow is trying to prevent a Clinton from moving back into the White House. Fragmenting the Western alliance is always in Moscow’s interest, and so is inducing chaos in Washington, while it’s painfully clear that Putin has personal animus against Hillary too, stemming from late 2011 protests in Russia that the Kremlin boss blames the then-secretary of state for. Australian Labor MP uses unpaid interns to help with a book on income inequality. Of course he did.

Outside of general office work, the interns are tasked with “data-related issues” and “carrying out research” that has contributed to Leigh’s last four books. As explained on Leigh’s website, he prefers economics students, and they need to bring their own laptop.

One Canberra high school student who spent six weeks in Leigh’s office told BuzzFeed News that as a 16-year-old she did “research on the weather patterns of McLaren Vale for him to use to prove that weather had some kind of effect on the price of wine”.

That data contributed to a section in Leigh’s 2014 book The Economics of Just About Everything about the auction price of Grange vintages.

The intern wasn’t told her research would be contributing to the publication and wasn’t aware that she was credited alongside eight other interns as “researchers” in the acknowledgments.
