"The Archbishop of Canterbury has said that claims that the atrocities of ISIS/Daesh have 'nothing to do with Islam' are harming efforts to confront and combat extremism."
In a speech I gave in September to head teachers of Church of England schools, I said - uncontroversially in my view - that in order to defeat terrorism, we need to understand the mind-set of those who perpetrate it. To my surprise, a small number of media commentators viewed my comments as appeasing terrorists and their acts. However depraved it may be, groups like ISIS have an ideology, indeed a theology - which is at the heart of their propaganda, and therefore the driving force - which holds an apocalyptic understanding of human history, not as a loose term but in its strictest technical terms: they believe that the world is about to end, that the Prophet will return with Jesus, and will defeat the western powers.
It's very difficult to understand the things that impel people to some of the dreadful actions that we have seen over the last few years unless you have some sense of religious literacy. You may reject and condemn it - that's fine - but you still need to understand what they're talking about.
It's no accident this declaration came after the election of Donald Trump. The vast political fraud of Global Warming and other towers of Marxist totalitarian bullshit are about to shake.
Here's another, very recent ferinstance, this time from Germany:
Hundreds of German police have launched coordinated raids this morning in ten of the country’s 16 states hunting for supporters and recruiters of Islamic State among a Salafist group calling itself ‘The True Religion.’
Armed police and elite SEK anti-terror units were involved in the raids on more than 200 apartments and offices belonging to organizers and supporters of the group which publicly backs the aims of ISIS.
At the same time as the raids across Germany at 6.30am the government announced that the group was being banned for good.
Salafists believe in a traditional interpretation of Islam, based on Sharia law. They have caused controversy in Germany with a project called ‘Read!’ to hand out 25 million translations of the Koran for free.
Even an old Red reprobate like Merkel knows the jig is up.

One more thing... the new rhetoric will send progs running for their safe spaces:
Donald Trump’s early appointments are raising alarms that rhetoric about Muslims and Islam long rejected even by Republican leaders are finding a home in his administration, dimming already-faint hopes that his provocative campaign statements about Muslims — "I think Islam hates us," Trump told CNN in March — were just political rhetoric.
The concern was fueled by Trump’s appointment of retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn as his national security adviser, days after Trump tapped former Breitbart News Network executive chairman Stephen Bannon as a strategic counselor. Both men, who will work steps from the Oval Office, have spoken in sweeping terms about a sickness within Islam and have cast Muslim extremism as an existential threat in terms their critics say equates Islam with terrorism.
As the host of a Sirius XM radio show, Bannon frequently welcomed figures accused of anti-Muslim bias, including at least seven friendly interviews with Pamela Geller, the founder of a group called Stop Islamization of America.
Flynn, for his part, has called Islam “a cancer” and in a July tweet wrote that he “dare[s]” Muslim world leaders to “declare their Islamic ideology sick.”
In February, Flynn tweeted a link to a YouTube video titled, “Fear of Muslims is RATIONAL.”
“Please keep in mind that the term ‘Islamophobia’ is an oxymoron, since having a phobia means having an irrational fear,” explains a narrator. “Fearing Islam, which wants 80 percent of humanity enslaved or exterminated is totally rational and hence cannot be called a phobia.”
"If there's a silver lining from this, me personally, it's the two issues that I have been on the case of liberals for, and they've been booing me about this for years, and maybe they'll listen.
One is political correctness. I think I did a show about that for nine years.
You're outrageous with your politically correct bullsh*t and it does drive people away...
...Democrats, there is a terrorist attack and Democrats' reaction is: don't be mean to Muslims, instead of how can we solve the problem of sh*t blowing up in America.
And, you know, that's not a good way to get votes."

Somehow, I doubt Maher's all that happy about the first one. He's very likely worried about becoming obsolete in less than a year.
Not to mention that aside from being willing to engage in racial profiling to a certain degree when it comes to fighting terrorism (and making fun of feminism), he pretty much toes the line when it comes to liberalism and saves his "anti-PC" schtick for pop culture - and does so in juvenile ways that George Carlin would likely never have done. Refusing to talk like an adult is his idea of being anti-PC.
ISIS member linked to French priest murder enjoys beheading people for Allah and also happens to be quite the cat lover.
