It includes the phrase, "...and to respect the constitutional rights of all to liberty, equality and justice."

Thus, the campus police violated their own oaths and should face consequences but will not. The administrator(s) who gave the cops that order ought to be punished severely, IMHO.

However, "I was only following orders" was not a valid defense in the '40s and should not be any more acceptable in 2016.

The Rise of Political Correctness

Because all progressives, Communists included, claim to be about creating new human realities, they are perpetually at war against nature’s laws and limits. But wherever progressives have gained power, all manner of contradictions have remained and new ones have arisen. Progressive movements have reacted to this failure by becoming their own reason for being. Theoretically, the Revolution is about the power and necessity to recreate mankind. In practice, for almost all progressive movements it is about gaining power for the revolutionaries and making war on those who stand in their way.

Booker Taliaferro Washington wrote in My Larger Education (1910) about the need to keep racial grievances alive and festering.

A story told me by a colored man in South Carolina will illustrate how people sometimes get into situations where they do not like to part with their grievances. In a certain community there was a colored doctor of the old school, who knew little about modern ideas of medicine, but who in some way had gained the confidence of the people and had made considerable money by his own peculiar methods of treatment. In this community there was an old lady who happened to be pretty well provided with this world’s goods and who thought that she had a cancer. For twenty years she had enjoyed the luxury of having this old doctor treat her for that cancer. As the old doctor became – thanks to the cancer and to other practice – pretty well-to-do, he decided to send one of his boys to a medical college. After graduating from the medical school, the young man returned home, and his father took a vacation. During this time the old lady who was afflicted with the “cancer” called in the young man, who treated her; within a few weeks the cancer (or what was supposed to be the cancer) disappeared, and the old lady declared herself well.

When the father of the boy returned and found the patient on her feet and perfectly well, he was outraged. He called the young man before him and said: “My son, I find that you have cured that cancer case of mine. Now, son, let me tell you something. I educated you on that cancer. I put you through high school, through college, and finally through the medical school on that cancer. And now you, with your new ideas of practicing medicine, have come here and cured that cancer. Let me tell you, son, you have started all wrong. How do you expect to make a living practicing medicine in that way?”

I am afraid that there is a certain class of race problem solvers who don’t want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public.

I doubt I could prove this, but I suspect social justice in its various incarnations, such as third-wave feminism, Black Lives Matter, etc. has more to do with the election of Trump than anything else.

They don't demand equality, they demand greater privilege than any society in the world has ever extended.

Black Lives Matter, for instance, demands a guaranteed minimum income for all black people, open admissions and free tuition to post secondary education, at least including community colleges and trade schools, student loan forgiveness, as well as the right to block traffic.

Third-wave feminism demands absolution from any personal responsibility, such as consensual sex, if while drunk, gives them the right to declare rape the next day.

Men, on the other hand, are expected to own their decisions while drunk.

Maybe, just maybe, rational people, who see how insane these idea is, note that Obama has refused to condemn even a single outrageous act committed by these groups, such as blocking traffic and obstructing customers from entering white-owned businesses on Black Friday, recognize that Hillary will give us more or the same. And social justice warriors become increasingly outrageous and given carte blanche by the nation's chief executive.

It was indeed racism, sexism and a desire for privilege that drove people to Trump. But it was theirs, not the soi-disant privileged class.

Meanwhile some ignorant smuck said something racist or did something stupid and OMG Trump has unleashed "hate" groups.

The sad fact is that the SJW that despised the campus cops don't realize that they were there to protect them not the "white" students.

The protesters "violence" allowed to continue for the sake campus good. First they came for ...

Why don't Kanye and Beyoncé and all the "A-names" send people to college? Not every kid needs to go to Harvard, and 4years at a State U doesn't have to be expensive. Bill and Hill could afford to do splash out on some real charity spending.

The President sets the tone of the country so this rests entirely on Obama and his "community organizer" background.

His administration has put a thumb in the eye of polite disagreement and supported callous and violent protest. Name one "let's tone this down and be civil" talk from him.

From his sealing his records instead of releasing them to prove skeptics wrong to NOT telling #BLM that calling for the killing of police would not be tolerated (there's a law for everything so that protest could have generated consequences other than ambushing police weeks later, and on and on.

All these professional organizers need is kindling 'cause they will provide the spark. Trump has nothing to do with Halloween costumes, calls for "separate but equal" housing, and etc.

Preventing other students to pass on the basis of their race?

Time to shut off all tax dollars (or other tax benefits such as student loans) to that school which does NOT protect the rights of ALL students.

And yes, I agree Patrick - while not the only reason, it is Obama's support of BLM and the war on cops that help push Hillary out. Red America has spoken and they (including me) want no more of that shit they are shilling.

Yeah, I think the hypocrisy on display finally become too much for a lot of people. The SJW's say, "We want equality and justice for all people!", and in the next breath they tell the disfavored groups, "When we said 'all people', we didn't mean you." And it isn't just those people specifically. When the SJW's diss a working-class white male, they not only lose his vote, but they likely lose the votes of his wife, his mother, his sisters, and his daughters. They don't want to see someone they love treated as sub-human, and they will see through the identity-group-bases promises that the SJW's make to them.

I think the other thing that puts people off is the sheer anger and rage of the SJW movement. The Trump voters look at an SJW and they see someone who is angry, about everything, all the time. The SJW wakes up in the morning angry. They are angry at breakfast, lunch and dinner. They are angry at work. They are angry when they go to the restroom. They are angry when they go to a movie in the evening. They go to bed angry, and their last thought before falling asleep is how angry they are and how much angrier they plan to be tomorrow. To people who are not anger-motivated Cluster B's, it's fatiguing. No normal person enjoys being around someone who is perpetually angry. This maybe was one of Trump's most effective campaign tactics -- to goad leftists into putting their anger on display for everyone to see.
