Myself, I'm going to check these out. I've read that Duck doesn't track users the way Google does. If so, that sounds like a BIG positive.

Try Bing or Yahoo when you search for articles on social issues.
Google as of lately has been hiding those on the third or fourth page while fronting tripe from the HuffPo, Salon, etc.

DuckDuckGo does not collect or share personal information. That is our privacy policy in a nutshell. The rest of this page tries to explain why you should care.
Look for the outsized emotional reaction. You see lots of people arguing the same side that Ben argues, but rarely do you see that level of anger except in street protests where the average energy is higher. The exaggerated emotional outburst in the wrong context is a clear tell.
When you see that reaction in your debate opponent, you won the debate – hard – but you didn’t change anyone’s mind. Cognitive dissonance swooped in to to derail any actual mind-changing.
And forget about Wikipedia for anything that is remotely related to politics later than the 19th century. The editors who control this content are doctrinaire Leftists up and down the line. I've heard it said recently: "Wikipedia is a good resource if you want to know the average wingspan of the great blue heron." Although, having had some run-ins with Wikipedia's editors myself, I don't even trust that, if it's important, without cross-checking.

Speaking of search engines. Emphasis mine.
Repeatedly during the video, Goyette claimed to be an NYU professor. What's funny about that is the minute she said it, the entire Twitterverse collectively nodded and thought, "Of course she is." So imagine our surprise when an investigation discovered she was not a professor but is, in fact, a "lobster porn" performance "artist." If you've never heard of lobster porn, I beg you not to Google it like I did. I saw things that can't be unseen and believe me, I wish I hadn't.
Despite attracting wide attention to its grim and grinding violence - including President Trump’s denunciations of its “carnage” - Chicago is not the murder capital of America.
In fact, it’s not even close.
St. Louis has held that dubious distinction for three years running, reaching nearly 60 murders per 100,000 residents last year – more than double Chicago’s rate despite the latter’s nation-leading raw total of 762, its most killings in 18 years.
Who are you, and what have you done with the actual Guardian? yes, it's an opinion piece, but I'm still shocked that the Guardian published it.
Amid the ongoing protests against President Trump, calls for “resistance” among Democratic politicians and activists, and the overheated rhetoric casting Trump and his supporters as fascists and xenophobes, an outsider might be forgiven for thinking that America has been taken over by a small faction of rightwing nationalists.
America is deeply divided, but it’s not divided between fascists and Democrats. It’s more accurate to say that America is divided between the elites and everybody else, and Trump’s election was a rejection of the elites.
The Patriots won because they wore white jerseys and the falcons had black helmets! Racism !

In November, Jackie had thanked his stunt team for their loyalty and devotion as he accepted his honorary Oscar. In his speech, he said "After 56 years in the film industry, making more than 200 films, after so many bones, finally."
From Bratfree: Woman's car got stolen, so she lied to the police and said her child was in it so they'd find it faster - by putting out an Amber Alert.
They did and arrested the thief. But now...Jessica Pickett is being charged with a misdemeanor. AND they took all three of her children into custody.
Not to mention, what if someone else needed the cops' help and couldn't get it?
Before birth control, having children was largely out of a person's control. Kids were seen as an unavoidable inevitability. People had better perspective and could see kids as the annoying, undisciplined shits they are. It was understood that kids were largely bothersome and parents would actually make a concerted effort to raise their brats with the manners they inherently lack.
Now it's a choice to have children, so children have become the latest accessory. Children are touted as precious angels that can do no wrong. We are all supposed to feel blessed to be in their snotty, grubby presence...

Unfortunately, that poster may well be correct. The Princeton author of the 1997 book "Why Things Bite Back: Technology and the Revenge of Unintended Consequences" could easily explain it in more detail - but I didn't read that book.

Hate to break it to you, but the police in the USofA are under no obligation to assist you. Ever. The motto to protect and serve is simply good marketing.
Speaking of 911, here's a story out of the Denver metro area. (watch out for stupid autoplay video)
“They’re supposed to be my protectors, my number one people that I call,” said Kayla Feeney, whose 911 calls to Adams County in November rang, and rang, and rang before she hung up.
But a 9Wants to Know investigation showed that the Adams County 911 center is far from meeting the national standard that 90 percent of 911 calls be answered within 10 seconds.
“(I) called 911 to say, ‘hey, I got a crazy guy, 9:30 in the morning, trying to break into my apartment.’ I had no idea what his plans were, what he’s going to do,” Feeney said.
Darth, I read about that already, but I'm sure you know what I meant. There are only so many cops to go around, and often a cop would have been glad to help if he/she hadn't been ordered to work on something less important.
And if there aren't enough cops to keep an eye out for drunk drivers on a given holiday weekend, well, there's a reason you still don't hear cops on the local news telling SOBER drivers to stay off the road - they want would-be drunk drivers to think twice and properly afraid of the chance that there ARE in fact cops at every corner, watching for them. (Not to mention that everyone needs to travel and it would be just plain wrong for cops to tell sober drivers OR pedestrians to stay home when possible; drunk drivers are not unpreventable, like blizzards.)

"Why do modern parents suck so much?"
So the measure was against parents of today vs. 20 years ago? Seems like a short time horizon. Also, I'd like to see some actual data supporting the complaint. From what I see most of the complaints presented are about left wing culture and not parents in general. As for the pill being the cause, it came out in the 60s. Did it somehow take until 1990 before people started using it? (20 year time horizon and all.)

Keep in mind that Bratfree seldom makes claims to be scientific - but then, neither do the sentimentalists or pro-natalists they rail against.
And anyone who posts there - they throw out imposters pretty quickly - is NOT truly against birth control.
In the meantime, a lot of women got scared away from the Pill, Depo-Provera and the IUD in the 1970s and maybe 1980s - and not without good reason. (It wasn't until fairly recently that doctors became willing, again, to prescribe IUDs to teen girls - there were too many ways it was dangerous to growing girls, even aside from STIs. Now it's been improved.) In addition to that, certain other bc methods didn't exist 30 years ago. So I'd say the posters have a point.
