Don't have a link, but yesterday an aviation web site that is published in the UK had an inflammatory headline and article about the airline security measures that the DHS has imposed this week on airlines that fly out of nine specific airports from Turkey and the Middle East. Don't have a link now, but the headline and article were all about how Trump's ignorant hicks in the U.S. were destroying airline flight safety by requiring that some electronics containing lithium batteries be checked. Of course the commenters piled on, saying that all ICAO nations should ban U.S. airlines from operating in their country because the U.S. is violating ICAO regulations regarding lithium batteries. Even thought we aren't... one brave commenter posted the chapter and verse from ICAO regulations and pointed out that it only prohibits the bulk shipment of lithium batteries as freight. It does not prohibit them in checked baggage.
Well, guess what. Last night, the UK adopted the same regulations. Now all of a sudden, the picture has completely changed. Instead of the article being an anti-Trump and anti-American rant, there's a new headline and article which talks in a neutral manner about security measures. Funny how that changed overnight.

I'm not saying it's a stargate, but it's a stargate.
"The ninth week of Donald Trump’s presidency began with the F.B.I. director calling him a liar.
"The director, the very complicated James Comey, didn’t use the L-word in his congressional testimony Monday. Comey serves at the pleasure of the president, after all. But his meaning was clear as could be. Trump has repeatedly accused Barack Obama of wiretapping his phones, and Comey explained there is 'no information that supports' the claim.
"I’ve previously argued that not every untruth deserves to be branded with the L-word, because it implies intent and somebody can state an untruth without doing so knowingly. George W. Bush didn’t lie when he said Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and Obama didn’t lie when he said people who liked their current health insurance could keep it. They made careless statements that proved false (and they deserved much of the criticism they got).
"If a farmer bought the tractor, he should be able to do whatever he wants with it," Kevin Kenney, a farmer and right-to-repair advocate in Nebraska, told me. "You want to replace a transmission and you take it to an independent mechanic—he can put in the new transmission but the tractor can't drive out of the shop. Deere charges $230, plus $130 an hour for a technician to drive out and plug a connector into their USB port to authorize the part."
"What you've got is technicians running around here with cracked Ukrainian John Deere software that they bought off the black market," he added.

I reckon Comey is toast once Trump gets his SCOTUS nominee approved.
