Yes, There's Such A Thing As Crony Capitalist Hate
It's hate in service of a small group of people getting richer -- the leadership of the Palestinians.
Oded Revivi is the chief foreign envoy of the Yesha Council, which represents the Israeli residents of Judea and Samaria. He's also the Mayor of Efrat, an Israeli city where the people who have a vested interest in peace -- ordinary Israelis and Palestinians -- have been meeting to try to figure things out.
Revivi writes in the LA Times about sleazy, greedy Mahmoud Abbas' vested interest in seeing that there's no peace:
Mahmoud Abbas' Palestinian Authority continues to pay monthly salaries to convicted terrorists and imprison Palestinian peace activists for meeting with Israelis. This is not a recipe for peace -- 1,000 White House receptions and international peace summits will not bring us any closer to peace, if the process continues to empower the corrupt and impotent Palestinian Authority....A new approach to peace must be built from the bottom up by investing in the people affected the most, those living side by side in Judea and Samaria. It should therefore be a priority of U.S. diplomacy to create safe spaces for dialogue between the Israelis and Palestinians.
For example, the Israeli city of Efrat, where I serve as mayor, was founded more than three decades ago, and we have fostered good-neighborly relationships with the surrounding Palestinian towns since day one. Our residents number a mere 10,000; however, we employ 1,000 Palestinian workers daily. Efrat is zoned for a population of 70,000, but its development has been restricted because of the false notion that our growth would be an impediment to peace. Imagine if Efrat were built to its potential: It would open up thousands of additional jobs for local Palestinians, creating real hope and change and breaking down barriers between our two peoples.
For decades, our leadership has met in secret with local Palestinian leaders because the Palestinian Authority forbids such interaction. There is much to discuss and much that can be achieved from the ground up -- far away from Washington, Oslo or Brussels. We have collaborated on employment issues, and we have reached and implemented agreements on shared water-treatment facilities, road improvements and other infrastructure.
In recent months, our regular under-the-radar meetings became public events when our Palestinian friends decided open negotiations with their Israeli neighbors offered them a better standard of living than sticking with the Palestinian Authority. However, following a meeting at my home in October, four of my Palestinian guests were arrested, interrogated and held without trial by the authority, essentially for the crime of drinking coffee with Israelis.
I don't believe that there can ever be peace between Muslims and Israelis, as Islam calls for the slaughter of Jews. Anyone relatively well-versed in the Quran understands that the earlier passages (when Mohammed lacked power) are abrogated (nullified) by the later passages when he had gained power. These are the passages that call for the death of non-Muslims -- we dirty "kuffars."
This is unfortunate, because the Jews turned a shithole of a piece of land -- the land that is now the State of Israel -- from malaria-riddent swampland and desert into thriving farmland and a thriving technosphere. Those Arabs who do not want all the Jews dead have places there in politics and even in the gay nightlife of Israel -- whereas in Palestine, being openly gay invites being openly slaughtered.
However, as is the case in communist countries, long as it is wildly profitable for the leadership of the Palestinians to promote hate, they will continue to do so. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Or ever. You?

Too bad MSM and college professors are not into research (follow the money) and analysis (who profits from what actions).
By this point in history we have the tools and knowledge (recent history and events) to actually show what agendas are being promoted and by whom.
(Bet all the old white guys that did this stuff have been let go.)

That podcast mentioned yesterday has me thinking that the matter you discussed in this post: All your concerns about Islam, and what's happening with gays in Chechnya, and even with Somalis in Minnesota seem to be part of this same pattern.
There's this incredibly powerful urge to say that whoever the powerful authority figures in Western Culture are (and they're almost certainly older white guys), 'They're *wrong*, man... No matter what.'
Of course, we should note that it isn't always exotic people from faraway lands who are hastening these nightmares. It's also Trump voters and anti-vaxxers, and they're just tickled pinko with what they've wrought.
(Again, I'd encourage everyone to listen to the first 36 minutes of that podcast, whatever your politics.)
But also, let's not forget that Arafat was the most frequent overnight guest in the Clinton White House.

"It's also Trump voters and anti-vaxxers, and they're just tickled pinko with what they've wrought."
And yet Trump seems to think, foolishly, that he can restart the "peace process". If you want to use this as evidence that at least some Trump voters were suckered, I won't stop you.
(But as always with Trump, ignore what he says. Watch what he does.)
