I'm having a hard time ginning up sympathy for people who are known for roasting people alive.
The organization [International Committee of the Red Cross] is concerned about rhetoric that “dehumanizes” and “demonizes” the enemy [ISIS] or suggests that a particular adversary is “outside the bounds of humanity” and can be treated “as if humanitarian law doesn’t apply,” the group’s deputy director for the Middle East, Patrick Hamilton, told reporters via a telephone conference call.
Hey, if ISIS is worried that they'll be treated poorly, maybe they should show some courage and fight to the death?

She sounds nice.
A damning new report claims that Lisa Bloom offered to give a reporter a file which had details about Rose McGowan's sexual history.
The Daily Beast reports that Bloom told Ronan Farrow of the dossier while he was writing his exposé on Weinstein, who McGowan has accused of raping her in 1997 at the Sundance Film Festival.
Bloom wanted to hand over this material despite the fact that McGowan cannot legally speak about the incident because she signed an NDA after receiving a $100,000 settlement from Weinstein.

Wow. The last civil war in Spain was an immediate predecessor to World War II. I wonder what this one will protend. ~ Cousin Dave at October 27, 2017 11:48 AM
It will portend a hell of a mess as NATO is obligated by treaty to come to the defense of Spain (remember that Article 5 flap with Trump). Meanwhile, the EU will have to figure out if it is on the side of member Spain or potential member Catalonia.
If NATO is arrayed against Catalonian independence, will the Catalans seek military aid and assistance from Russia? Will Putin provide assistance to a breakaway republic as a justification for carving off a piece of the Ukraine?

After a layman's reading of Articles 5 and 6, they don't define if "armed attack" includes internal insurrection or rebellion. I would say no, as the spirit would indicate external aggressors but I maybe reading that into things.
It would be up to Spain to invoke an Article 5 response, so maybe the stereotype machismo will preclude them asking for help to beat up some lowly, hangdog Catalonians.
Perhaps not, Darth, but what if breakaway Catalonia is getting arms and assistance from Russia?
Wars have started on less.
And what will the Democrats say when Spain invokes Article 5, the article they made such a big deal about Trump acknowledging and committing the United States to uphold with no preconditions?

If Russia were supplying arms, then yeah, that would be an external aggressor. I'm not sure Putin would do that - he would in heartbeat if he thought he could get away with it - but not if he's unsure of that outcome.
In that event, I'd suggest dispatching a B-2 and dropping a JDAM on his dacha as a small reminder of just how precise our munitions can be. And we know where you live, Comrade.
As far as the Dems go, they'd merely accuse Trump of being a war monger and a fascist. Or, the same stuff they say on days ending in "y". If it weren't for double standards, they'd have none.

If the Weinstein / Bloom /McGowan story is true, doesn't that mean Weinstein's side already broke the confidentiality agreement?
