He antagonized Trump, and because of that the obituaries from the news organizations are bound to be full of flowery eulogies towards him instead of the usual celebratory Ding Dong! The Republican witch is dead! grave dancing.
Many of his actions, his decision to uphold Obamacare rather than repeal it, caused a lot of my conservative friends to dismiss him as a RINO.
I viewed that as a very principled act. Donald Trump didn't campaign on the promise to repeal Obamacare; he promised that he would replace it with something better. There was nothing to replace Obamacare with.
This woman, despite having been raised in a very simple, wholesome background, suddenly wanted to be Kardashian on her wedding day. And despite her and her fiancé having saved 15,000 dollars, decided to purchase a 60,000 dollar wedding, demanding -- literally demanding -- 1500 dollars from each guest. If you didn't pay, you weren't going to the wedding.
When most of the guests didn't cough up, she cancelled the wedding, broke off her relationship with her fiancé and decided to remove all the "toxic" people (those who didn't pay) out of her life.
And despite the cancelled wedding, she refused to return the deposits of those who did pay.
Sounds like a bunch of people dodged a bullet, and not just the groom. I'll bet there will be some squabbles over unreturned deposits, though.

While IQ is, by itself, not a determinant of success in life, it does, apparently, have some bearing on how well one navigates life's ups and downs; and on the kinds and quality of decisions one makes.
Most of us fall into the ‘Average’ band, constituted by the 90-109 range. Those achieving scores of 130 or higher are considered ‘Very Superior.’ Conversely, scores of 69 and under are classified as ‘Extremely Low,’ and automatically qualify the scorer for a diagnosis of ‘mild retardation’ according to the APA’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
According to the article, a standard deviation on this scale is roughly 13 points.

It was worse than merely demanding 1500 dollars to attend the wedding. It was the bridesmaids whose deposits she refused to return.
So, even members of the wedding party weren't exempt from the admission fee.
So, not only do the bridesmaids have to pay for expensive gowns that they can never wear again, they're being gouged 1500.
I could attend a formal dinner for a political candidate for less money.

Enjoy your small claims court dates, sweetie. If she don't show, you win by default. Then attach a lien on her car or other real property that she owns. I would be inclined to do that just out sheer orneriness.
On the other hand, my calculation WRT to a $1,500 entry fee would be:
How much is a trip to $FABULOUS_DESTINATION?
How much booze can I buy?
How many hookers and how much blow can that purchase?
The blow is for the hookers, mind you.
