From Snoopy's wsj link: "Baby boomers are aging alone more than any generation in U.S. history, and the resulting loneliness is a looming public health threat."
Some might call that a public health opportunity.
On a more serious note, this is an obvious result of social security and medicare. Prior to SS most people had to move in with their kids. They couldn't afford to live alone.

Ars tries to white wash Google's politicization of their products.
Pelosi disparaged Trump's "manhood" after he ambushed her by inviting the press to his sit-down with her and Schumer to discuss funding the wall. Both Pelosi and Schumer insisted, after the press was invited in, that the negotiations on the wall should take place "in private" - this despite having pledged transparency and openness in doing the people's business.
Naturally, the NBC link does not mention Pelosi and Schumer insisting that all negotiations should done in private, limiting the network's coverage to Pelosi's reaction and Trump's bombast.
Not sure who won this particular "tinkle contest," but it does make one wonder why that doddering old fool, [insert fool of choice's name here], was elected. And, sadly, it gives some credibility to those voters who wanted to see it all torn down and replaced with anything else.
LOL at this ham-fisted, amateur PR response to @tabletmag's expose on the anti-Semitism that forms the foundation of the Women's March. "Promise to delete your tweet about an article we don't like, and we might send you 'facts' you're not allowed to publish because journalism."
"Why Some Catholics Defend the Kidnapping of a Jewish Boy: It’s not about the Church’s relationship with Jews. It’s about the culture war inside the Church."
"It’s worth noting, however, that when some traditionalists defend the fact that their Church kidnapped a Jewish boy, they’re not just waxing nostalgic about the good old days when an almighty pope could do as he pleased. They’re making a larger theological argument—about divine doctrine trumping human morality, and about religion taking precedence over civil rights."
(Btw, Steven Spielberg is making a movie about the kidnapping.)

Pelosi called it a "tinkle contest with a skunk." Tinkle? What is she, five years old?
