Get Your Mouth Sewn Shut, Londoners!
That is, if you want to stay out of the slammer.
Perry de Havilland's perfect response -- to London Mayor Sadiq Khan's statement: "I've announced I'm proud to support calls to recognize misogyny as a hate crime."
Call a woman "shrill" and you might just end up in cage.
Meanwhile, as I point out in Penthouse Australia, this sort of "protection" disempowers women.
1984 was a cautionary tale, not a compendium of interesting policy suggestions #MakeOrwellFictionAgain #Newspeak

More from the Andrew Woodcock piece quoting Khan in the Independent:
"I want all women to feel safe in London, whether they are going to work or enjoying the culture and entertainment that London has to offer. It is time for every Londoner to call out sexist and misogynistic attitudes wherever they encounter them - in the workplace, at school, on the streets or on public transport.
If you feel "unsafe" because somebody says something oafish within your earshot in a public place, well, we need to stash you in some sort of facility -- like an adult nursery school -- where you can be protected like a toddler at all times.

"If you want to find out who rules over you, find out who you are not allowed to criticize."
Women's grab for autocratic social power is near complete. Yet, they wonder why they are increasingly not feeling the love ...

Does that include jailing Asian males who have sexual emergencies that they take out on the closest attractive female?
Or is that exempted because it would be racist?

Being rude and oafish should not be illegal. Drunks in bars are oafish yet often go home with the girl. I read an account of a woman who years ago as a late teen had a boy drive by and whistle at her. He circled the block and came back to talk. They are married now. The courtship thing is difficult and awkward. There are in fact many thousands of couples who met in random places and are only a couple because he was a little forward. A perfect world cannot be created by heavy-handed laws.

This article, and the mayor's tweet, I think, is poorly written in that it does not make clear how hate crimes generally work. To my knowledge, just saying hateful things is not made illegal, it only serves as an aggravating factor for "traditional" crimes. So you can't be arrested for calling someone a "stupid Canadian," but if you call someone a stupid Canadian and punch them in the face, it's punished more severely than if you just punch them in the face. Now, you can argue about whether that's right or wrong, but let's have the correct argument. And if the mayor does, in fact, want to make just the hateful speech illegal, then yeah, he's not helping.

Will Misandry be a hate crime? This guy is pandering to the female voting bloc. This is a guy just trying to hold on to his political power.
