We live near a village of maybe 1200, majority-minority school. No race issues. No covid. We buy most of our food (all our meat, dairy, and produce) from local farms and ranches, owned/ran by more minorities than not.

We're under curfew until tomorrow morning at 6am. I doubt I would have been arrested had I been out. The constabulary would have strongly suggested I get my ass home and stay there. As it was, I didn't even know about the curfew until I work up this morning.

Cops get their military equipment because you and I are robbed to buy it for them. Even if you just count that we were robbed to originally buy it for the military who then gives/sells it at a discount to legislation enforcement gangs.

Doctors can't (yet) "tax" you to get cool toys. They actually have to provide a service and buy the stuff they want.

Curfew at 8:30! So I went to the Target two blocks from my place to get a few groceries (Chianti). But someone had knocked out a window. And about forty heavily-armed cops were on the sidewalk, dealing with the sitch under the roar of helicopters. Some of ̶t̶h̶e̶ my fellow curbside rumormongers said the guy was hiding somewhere in the store. And when I peeked in the window, there were cops stationed within my Target at forty-foot intervals along the main aisles. They looked bored, especially considering the size of the weapons in their hands.
